The Walking Dead Auction Will Let You Ride Like Daryl and Drive Like Dale | Carscoops
Over 1,000 items from The Walking Dead Universe are up for auction, featuring several motorcycles utilized by Norman Reedus.
Vehicles from The Walking Dead Universe are currently being auctioned.
Key items for sale include Dale’s RV and the motorcycles ridden by Daryl Dixon.
Bidding has begun, but the vehicles are for display only.
The Walking Dead premiered on television 15 years ago and played a significant role in reviving the zombie genre, eventually leading to several spin-off series.
While the quality of these spin-offs varied, fans can rejoice as AMC Networks and Heritage Auctions have collaborated to present over 1,000 items from The Walking Dead Universe.
This collection includes “iconic on-screen props, hero costumes, vehicles, weapons, set elements, and prosthetics that shaped the series’ post-apocalyptic environment.”
**Apocalypse On Wheels**
There is an array of exciting items available, but we will concentrate on the vehicles. Notably, the 1973 Winnebago Chieftain driven by Dale Horvath (Jeffrey DeMunn) in the series stands out.
Bidding starts at $5,000, and it's indicated that it “shows significant wear and age” with “soiled carpeting featuring faux blood.” It’s listed for display only and does not have a title. The auction house clarifies that the “mechanicals are untested and we make no claims regarding roadworthiness or functionality.”
Nonetheless, it remains one of the most memorable vehicles from the series, appearing in the very first episode. The RV eventually gets overtaken and abandoned at Hershel’s farm in Season 2, Episode 13.
**Daryl’s Two-Wheeled Legacy**
Though Daryl Dixon began as an underutilized character, he eventually became one of the main stars. Consequently, the auction features several motorcycles used by Norman Reedus.
The earliest is a custom chopper featured in Seasons 1-4, based on a Triumph Bonneville and adorned with Schutzstaffel lightning bolt decals.
If you prefer something less controversial, there's a custom motorcycle from Seasons 5-8, built on a Honda CB750 Nighthawk chassis with modified Yamaha YZF-R6 front and rear ends. Dubbed the ‘Alexandria bike,’ it is one of the more intriguing lots.
Continuing with motorcycles, there’s a custom dirt bike from Seasons 10-11, which is based on a KTR 450 Enduro and prominently showcased in The Walking Dead series finale.
**From Muscle Cars To Mayhem**
Returning to cars, a 1971 Pontiac Tempest LeMans with a GTO package is available. This vehicle makes a brief appearance at the start of the first episode as the car used by the criminals who shot Rick Grimes.
Despite its limited screen time, this vehicle comes with a special advantage as it is signed by Andrew Lincoln, who also included a note: “Best Wishes For The Zombie Apocalypse.”
Completing the notable offerings are the MRAP and the ‘nuclear car’ from Fear the Walking Dead. The MRAP appeared in Seasons 4-8, used by Althea Szewczyk-Przygocki (Maggie Grace), while the 'nuclear car,' driven by Morgan Jones (Lennie James), debuted in Season 7 and is based on a Ford Pinto.
