A clandestine collection of 42 cars is being offered for sale by RM Sotheby’s in Switzerland.
The lot titled Tailored For Speed features more than two dozen rare Ferraris.
Notable highlights include a Pagani Utopia, a Huayra R, and a Bugatti Chiron SS.
In Switzerland lies an extraordinary collection of exotic cars that would make even a wealthy oil baron from the Middle East green with envy. Known as The Tailored for Speed Collection, this stunning series of vehicles will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s next month, and Chris Harris recently had the opportunity to take a closer look at it.
The owner of this collection remains anonymous, yet they are undoubtedly a passionate Ferrari enthusiast. Out of the 42 cars being auctioned, 33 bear the Prancing Horse emblem, many of which are some of the most coveted models ever produced.
Racing Heritage
The most valuable of the Prancing Horse cars for sale is a 1998 333 SP, which is projected to sell for between $5.5 million and $6.5 million. With only 40 units ever made, this car won two races in the 1999 Sports Racing World Cup championship.
The 333 SP is not the only race-oriented Ferrari in the collection. Also available are an FXX-K Evo, an FXX Evo, and a 599 XX, expected to sell for $5.5 million, $4.65 million, and $3.5 million, respectively.
In addition to the race cars, there are numerous road-going Ferraris with equal appeal. The auction will feature a 2017 LaFerrari Aperta valued at $5.5 million, a Daytona SP3, and famous models like the F40 and 812 Competizione A. Other highlights include an SA Aperta, the aggressive F12tdf, and a 488 GTE Evo race car, showcasing the diversity of this collection.
Beyond Maranello
However, the collection is not limited to Ferraris, as it also includes a variety of other highly coveted vehicles. Among them is a Pagani Huayra Roadster BC in Glossy Blue Francia with carbon fiber trim, expected to fetch between $4 million and $4.4 million. There’s also a Huayra R, one of just 30 ever produced, along with a brand-new Utopia.
At the forefront of the Bugatti offerings is a 2023 Chiron Super Sport adorned in blue-tinted carbon fiber, giving it a sapphire-like appearance. With only 516 km (320 miles) on the odometer, it could reach a price of up to $4.4 million.
Lastly, RM Sotheby’s includes a Lamborghini Sian FKP 37, a Mercedes-AMG GT2 Pro, a Bentley Continental GT3-R, and a Lamborghini Huracan Technica 60th Anniversary Edition in this impressive collection.
While money may not guarantee happiness, if you’re a car enthusiast, you might wish you were extremely wealthy right now to place a bid. We certainly do!
