Genesis has completed testing on the GV60 Magma ahead of its introduction later this year.

The performance-oriented crossover is set to make its debut soon.

This all-wheel-drive variant is expected to produce around 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque.

The Genesis GV60 Magma is nearly ready for its official reveal, as the automaker has confirmed the high-performance electric vehicle has finished validation testing. This clears the path for its unveiling later this year.

Although Genesis hasn’t disclosed many specifics, they stated that the vehicle has demonstrated its capabilities under the "world’s toughest conditions." This is evident from the prototypes that were sent to Arjeplog, Sweden earlier this year for cold weather evaluations. Conversely, the model also underwent rigorous heat testing at their California Proving Ground, focusing on validating power output, cooling efficiency, and thermal protection.

In New Zealand, the crossover experienced "sub-zero conditions at 1,500 meters (4,921 feet) above sea level," where engineers assessed chassis precision, traction stability, braking performance, and agile handling on icy and windy surfaces. Back in Korea, the vehicle was tested to its limits at the Inje Speedium Circuit.

As a result of this extensive testing and development, Genesis claims that the GV60 Magma will provide "exhilarating performance and refined comfort." While this is not a comprehensive insight, the company has released an official teaser image showcasing a camouflaged prototype.

The image indicates that the model will feature a more aggressive front design with three oval-shaped intakes, accompanied by a new front bumper that includes a larger simulated intake.

As we move to the rear, the prototype shows canards and a high-performance braking system with orange calipers, along with a sporty rear wing. Overall, the vehicle will bear a close resemblance to the GV60 Magma concept that was unveiled in 2024.

What kind of power can we expect?

While the company hasn’t shared extensive details about the crossover, it’s anticipated to be aligned with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Kia EV6 GT. Therefore, it will likely be equipped with an 84 kWh battery pack that powers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, yielding approximately 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) and 568 lb-ft (769 Nm) of torque. The Magma might offer a range of around 231 miles (372 km), but more detailed information will be available in the upcoming weeks.
