A real-life Pokémon motorcycle featuring moving legs and self-balancing technology made its first public appearance in Japan.
Honda has created a fully operational motorcycle inspired by Koraidon from Pokémon Scarlet.
This impressive Pokémon replica was shown to the audience and operates effectively.
Rather than having wheels, Koraidon moves using its legs, allowing the motorcycle to travel at walking speed.
No, this isn’t just an unusual mascot for a sports team or an avant-garde art piece. What you see is an extraordinary motorcycle concept developed by Honda. It was unveiled over the weekend during the MotoGP's Japanese Grand Prix at the Motegi circuit and is inspired by a legendary Pokémon. Remarkably, it is fully functional, unlike any motorcycle we've seen before.
This large motorbike was created in close partnership with The Pokémon Company and has been described as an “almost life-size reproduction” of the character from Pokémon Scarlet. While Koraidon typically moves on its hind legs rather than large wheels, this motorcycle does an impressive job of mirroring the original design.
Most of Koraidon’s body is painted a vibrant red, including the front and rear legs, body, and head. It also features a blue back plate that acts as the handlebars, along with flowing blue, pink, and white hair.
The concept of the bike originated last year through the Toyota Engineering Society’s initiative, titled “Adults’ Devotion Makes Children’s Dreams Come True.” About 40 engineers from Honda’s Motorcycle and Power Products divisions participated in this project.

It Actually Moves!
There are no details on what powers the motorcycle, but it utilizes Honda’s advanced self-balancing technology to prevent it from tipping over. Given its size compared to traditional motorcycles, that technology is crucial.
Interestingly, the unique motorcycle is not propelled by wheels. Instead, Koraidon’s front and rear legs move alternately, allowing it to advance at a walking pace. In early August, a few attendees at the Suzuki 8 Hours Endurance Race had the chance to take a brief ride on this one-off Honda, tapping into their passion for Pokémon in the process.
