In anticipation of its release next week, Voltage Pictures has unveiled a poster and trailer for James Kent’s upcoming thriller, Stolen Girl. Kate Beckinsale portrays Mara, a mother who collaborates with child abduction expert Robeson (Scott Eastwood) to find her daughter after her ex-husband kidnaps her and escapes to the Middle East. This leads the duo on a perilous mission filled with international espionage and corruption as Mara exhausts every effort to recover her child. Alongside Beckinsale and Eastwood, the cast includes Jordan Duvigneau, Matt Craven, and Arvin Kananian. You can watch the trailer below. Inspired by extraordinary true events, Stolen Girl tells the story of a resolute mother, Mara (Kate Beckinsale), whose life is turned upside down when her ex-husband, Karim, abducts their young daughter, Amina, and flees to the Middle East. In her quest to bring her child back, Mara partners with Robeson (Scott Eastwood), a mysterious former marine and child abduction specialist.       In Washington, regular fuel costs $4.657 compared to California’s $4.656 per gallon.

      While the national average stands at $3.20, Mississippi sees prices as low as $2.709.

      California drivers have long been accustomed to high gas prices, but they no longer have the highest rates. That title has shifted to Washington, where gas is nearly 50% above the national average.

      At the beginning of this week, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Washington was $4.657, and in some counties, it exceeds $5. This increase to $4.657 makes gas in Washington slightly more expensive than in California, where the average stands at $4.656.

      California’s prices have declined from $4.77 this time last year, while Washington’s gas costs have risen. Last year, the average for a gallon of regular gas in Washington was $4.15.

      What accounts for Washington's high gas prices? In part, a rise in per-gallon tax from 49.4 cents to 55.4 cents that began in July, which will increase annually, along with a 6-cent hike in the CO2 emissions tax, according to Newsweek.

      The price rise is also attributed to several other factors, such as supply issues, a refinery fire in February that raised prices by 21 cents per gallon, and a recent shutdown of a Washington-Oregon pipeline that caused a 20-cent increase last week. Costs are expected to decrease soon as supply issues resolve and retailers switch to a less expensive winter-blend fuel, as forecasted by Newsweek.

      Compared to the national average gas price of $3.20, which is close to its lowest in years, both Washington and California's gas prices seem very high. Other states with high prices include Hawaii ($4.478) and Oregon ($4.293). Every other state pays less than $4, with many below $3.

      Conversely, the state with the lowest prices is Mississippi, with an average of $2.709, making it easy to own a large V8 truck. This is followed by Oklahoma ($2.752), Louisiana ($2.766), and Texas ($2.79). At these rates, owning a gas guzzler doesn't significantly impact the finances.
