      GM has introduced a new Hummer concept crafted by an intern.

      This rugged electric vehicle recalls the Hummer HX concept.

      The SUV effectively merges Hummer design elements with a futuristic aesthetic.

      With school back in session, GM Design has been showcasing various projects from their interns. One such project is this striking GMC Hummer HEV Peak concept, created by Sun Hao and recently highlighted on the company’s Instagram account.

      The GM China intern developed a futuristic two-door SUV that is expected to compete with the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler. Essentially, it’s a contemporary iteration of the Hummer HX concept that was unveiled at the 2008 North American International Auto Show.

      As depicted, the concept features a recognizable front end inspired by the current GMC Hummer EV series. It also includes an upright windshield, uniquely styled fenders, and a flat roof.

      Additionally, the vehicle showcases stylish wheels and a sharply designed rear end without windows, complemented by a robust rear bumper and a slim light bar.

      Notably, the concept is equipped with distinctive doors that seem to be entirely glass. However, this is an illusion, as interior images reveal two different configurations. One features standard lower door panels, while the other presents a central 'beam' with glass sections above and below.

      Sleek Yet Advanced Interior

      Regarding the interior, it’s both minimalist and high-tech, showcasing an oval-shaped steering wheel with an integrated display. A second widescreen display is positioned atop the dashboard, likely serving as both an infotainment system and passenger interface.

      The Hummer HEV Peak concept is undeniably impressive, transitioning from digital designs to a scale model. It has garnered substantial praise online, and it is hoped that this attention will encourage GMC to consider broadening the Hummer lineup to incorporate more affordable options.
