A new Porsche prototype has been observed being tested near the Nürburgring.
It seems to be a combination of a contemporary slantnose and the Manthey kit for the 911 GT2 RS.
The intriguing model may be referred to as the Flachbau, which translates from German as slantnose.
Porsche is familiar with producing special editions, and it looks like the company is developing a brand-new model that pays tribute to the 911 Turbo Slantnose from the 1980s. Following earlier trademark filings for the Flachbau and Flachbau RS names, spy photographers have captured images of this mysterious prototype near the Nürburgring.
With a strikingly aggressive look, the model features elements from the 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. However, it showcases a distinctive front with narrower headlights and squared-off air intakes. Additional features include ventilated fenders and a one-of-a-kind hood with NACA ducts. The car is also fitted with canards and an extended front lip.
Continuing along the sides, it sports lightweight, center-locking wheels paired with a high-performance braking system featuring yellow calipers. There are also rear aero discs, a large rear wing, and a tall spoiler. Other notable aspects include a sports exhaust system and a subtle diffuser. Interestingly, the model is equipped with taillights reminiscent of those found on the 991.
In relation to this, the model bears a close resemblance to the Manthey kit for the previous-generation 911 GT2 RS. This could suggest that we are looking at a new Manthey variant rather than a special edition from Porsche.
No matter what it is, it’s clear that it will not come at a low price. However, we will need to wait a bit longer for details on pricing and performance specifications.
