Even with the company’s shaky financial situation, Nissan continues to advance its product development. Today, we’re sharing new images of the updated Pathfinder, which is expected to be released for the 2026 model year featuring some styling updates and a revamped dashboard. One of the valid criticisms of Nissan’s earlier product offerings was that they were largely outdated and went largely unchanged. Since the Pathfinder is still relatively young, it’s encouraging to see it receive some enhancements.
As this is a refresh rather than a complete redesign, these upgrades will be rather subtle. Both the front and rear bumpers, as well as the grille (and oddly, the gas cap), are covered on this prototype. The high-mounted front lighting setup remains visible, even with the vinyl obscuring the headlight covers.
At the back, the camouflage doesn’t conceal much. We suspect it’s hiding a significant alteration rather than an entirely new shape, given that the rear reflectors are positioned identically. Curiously, the camo gives the Pathfinder’s rear end an even more Explorer-like appearance—a lucky coincidence for the Nissan test engineers trying to keep its identity concealed (apologies).
Regrettably, our spies were unable to capture any images of the new interior, so we’ll need to wait to discover what Nissan has planned in that regard.
