The new Jaguar XFL features several black accents, including on the grille and air intakes, but is exclusively available in China.
This special edition of the XFL has been created to commemorate Jaguar's 90th anniversary in the automotive industry.
Jaguar offers this sedan solely with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Customers in Western markets will have to wait for the release of the long-anticipated electric vehicle from Jaguar.
As Jaguar continues its transformation into a luxury, EV-only brand aiming to compete with manufacturers like Bentley, it has been a significant period since the company introduced any new models, resulting in a sharp decline in global sales.
Amid this shift towards electric vehicles, the British carmaker has surprisingly launched a new variant of the XFL, but it is limited to the Chinese market. The XFL is the elongated version of the XF sedan, specifically crafted for China, featuring a wheelbase that has been extended by 140 mm (5.5 inches) for a total of 3,100 mm (122 inches).
This revamped XFL is named the 90th Anniversary Collector’s Edition, marking Jaguar's nine decades in the automotive sector. It has a starting price of 269,800 yuan, approximately $37,500. A slightly less elaborate version, termed the Exclusive Deluxe, has also been introduced, starting at 239,800 yuan ($33,400).
For context on pricing, the standard-wheelbase XF in the US is fitted with a 246 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine and has a starting price of $49,800, although this applies to remaining inventory at dealerships.
In terms of design, although this generation's look dates back to 2015, it still presents a visually appealing sedan. The model intended for China comes with a standard black grille, as well as black air intakes and a black lower grille. Moreover, Jaguar has replaced the chrome trim found on lesser versions with darkened window accents.
Despite the age of the XF, the interior remains contemporary and appealing in the 90th Anniversary Collector’s Edition. It features the expansive Pivi Pro infotainment system as standard and, unlike many current vehicles from China, incorporates numerous physical controls.
There have been no changes to the engine configuration, meaning the 2025 XFL continues to offer the familiar 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine in both 250 hp and 300 hp versions, producing either 269 lb-ft (365 Nm) or 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. The XFL is available exclusively with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The future of the Jaguar brand hinges on the success of its long-anticipated all-electric four-door GT. This new model, inspired by last year’s Type 00 concept, is set to debut in 2026 and will be based on the new Jaguar Electrical Architecture. It is expected to have a range of up to 430 miles (692 km) on a single charge, although further details remain unclear.
