Bugatti has teased a new one-off vehicle that will make its debut on August 7, presenting enigmatic visuals.

The model, finished in green, features a large grille and a coupe-like rear window design.

This marks the inaugural car from Bugatti's newly established ultra-exclusive coachbuilding division.

Bugatti is about to embark on a new phase in its long history of coachbuilding, focused on an "ultra-exclusive program of one-of-a-kind vehicles." The initiative will officially kick off on August 7 with the unveiling of the first custom-built model. Early glimpses through cryptic teasers have provided hints about what is to come.

Described as “a celebration of grace and elegance, rooted in the unique artistry and heritage of the Bugatti story, our latest Solitaire,” the teasers showcase a wide horseshoe grille finished in aluminum, situated above a carbon fiber splitter.

Part of the rear deck is also visible, displaying a coupe-style rear windscreen that may function as an engine cover. The model is adorned in a striking shade of green, a color typically associated with Bentley.

      More Than Just Another Hypercar

While one might expect that this one-off shares its platform with the recently revealed Bugatti Tourbillon, the tone of the official posts implies otherwise. Bugatti's caption states: “Not merely customized, but entirely unique. Get ready to redefine what characterizes a Bugatti, one singular vision at a time. Each curve sculpted with intent. Each detail crafted to perfection.”

This language suggests a vehicle that could significantly differ from the architecture of the Tourbillon. Speculation in the comments section has arisen, with some proposing that the Solitaire might take on the form of a luxury SUV or crossover.

Others hope for a return to the high-end grand touring market, possibly echoing the Galibier fastback sedan concept from 2009 or a reimagined version of the canceled 2015 Bugatti Atlantic coupe.

A Nod to Bugatti’s Design Heritage

Bugatti makes reference to the classic Type 57 SC Atlantic in their announcement, which also inspired the ultra-expensive La Voiture Noire one-off from 2019. The latter was based on the Bugatti Chiron, along with a few other unique models such as the Centodieci, Divo, and W16 Mistral.

It remains to be seen whether this new chapter in coachbuilding will explore different platforms and powertrains, but it's evident that the company is moving beyond traditional designs.

For comparison, the Tourbillon is supported by a carbon fiber monocoque and features a naturally aspirated 8.3-liter V16 engine paired with three electric motors. This hybrid combination delivers a total of 1,775 hp (1,324 kW / 1,800 PS), making it the most powerful production Bugatti to date, surpassing previous W16-powered models.

It has been confirmed that the new model will be part of The Perridon Collection, a private assembly of rare Bugattis owned by Dutch businessman Michel Perridon. Often referred to as the world’s largest Bugatti collection, it will soon include this exceptional creation.

More will be revealed when the official launch takes place on August 7. Until then, stay tuned to Bugatti's social media for more teasers.
