Toyota's Second Most Popular Crossover Has Become Pricier | Carscoops
The 2026 Grand Highlander is set to debut this fall with increased prices and minimal changes.
The starting price has increased by $500 to $41,360, positioning it at a higher price point than the Chevy Traverse.
This crossover continues to provide three powertrain options, including two hybrid variations.
The Grand Highlander has seen significant success for Toyota, quickly becoming their second best-selling crossover. In the first half of the year, 65,419 units were sold in the U.S., reflecting a 19.7% increase from the previous year.
While this is positive news, the Grand Highlander is entering its third model year without significant enhancements. The only noticeable modification is a "black badge overlay" on hybrid models of the Nightshade Edition.
Apart from this minor adjustment, the 2026 Grand Highlander will be pricier when it hits dealerships this fall. The base price is set at $41,360, an increase of $500. The Hybrid variant rises from $44,210 to $44,710, while the Hybrid Max’s price jumps from $54,690 to $55,190.
Regarding powertrains, the crossover comes equipped with a standard turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 265 hp (198 kW / 269 PS) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. The Hybrid model utilizes a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor for a total output of 245 hp (183 kW / 248 PS).
Additionally, customers can choose the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max, which features a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, a small battery, and a rear eAxle, producing 362 hp (270 kW / 367 PS) and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds.
Since the model closely resembles its predecessor, we'll briefly outline its features. The crossover comes standard with acoustic front glass, a power liftgate, and 18-inch wheels. Inside, it boasts a roomy eight-seat interior, analog gauges, a 7-inch multi-information display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Additional features include an eight-way power driver's seat, a tri-zone automatic climate control system, and a six-speaker audio system.
Buyers will benefit from a variety of driver assistance technologies, including Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. The vehicle is also equipped with Automatic High Beams, Proactive Driving Assist, Road Sign Assist, and a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection.
Higher-end trims offer a more luxurious experience with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, and digital rearview mirror. Other premium features include heated and ventilated seats in the front and second row, a wireless smartphone charger, ambient interior lighting, and an 11-speaker JBL premium audio system.
Pricing for the 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander does not include a $1,495 destination fee.
