DAMD resurrects classic icons with affordable kits that convert the Jimny into G-Wagens and even a nostalgic Renault 5 special.

DAMD has refreshed its bodykits for the five-door Jimny, incorporating retro design elements.

The Saudade kit pays tribute to the Renault 5, featuring square headlights and OZ Racing wheels.

Prices begin at $2,600 for unpainted kits, making them surprisingly budget-friendly.

The Suzuki Jimny has consistently served as a popular platform for unusual customizations, with few doing it as well as the Japanese tuner DAMD. Renowned for transforming the Jimny into styles ranging from a miniature Mercedes G-Class to a compact Land Rover Defender, DAMD has carved a niche for itself around Suzuki’s small off-roader.

A few years ago, they even gave it a Lancia Delta Integrale redesign. Now, DAMD has returned with updated versions of its G-Class and Defender-inspired kits, specifically designed for the larger five-door Jimny.

The latest version of the Defender-inspired bodykit, affectionately named the Little D, has received several subtle enhancements. It is now tailored for the extended wheelbase five-door model and was showcased in a rich green paint, ideal for an off-road vehicle.

This kit introduces new headlights and turn signals reminiscent of a classic Defender, along with a blacked-out front grille featuring a recognizable green oval badge that reflects Land Rover's design.

To enhance the transformation, DAMD has created a custom skid plate for the Jimny, along with new front and rear bumpers and unique fender flares. The Little D also includes mud flaps and the option for various wheel styles.

Next, we have the newest iteration of the Little G. Like the Little D, it is based on the five-door Jimny and boasts Mercedes-style front and rear designs, custom wheels, distinctive fenders, side steps, and revamped door trims.

Joining the lineup is the Little G Traditional, which comes with a basic steel front bumper fitted with square yellow fog lights. It also features taillights inspired by older G-Class models and includes a set of mud flaps.

The most surprising and arguably delightful newcomer for 2025 is a Jimny body kit inspired by the Renault 5, known as the Saudade. This kit might just be our favorite and features square headlights typical of an old Renault, a small black grille, and a black steel bumper with a prominent skid plate.

The Japanese tuning company has also designed new wing mirrors, added flared wheel arches, and completed the look with eye-catching OZ Racing wheels.

More remarkable than its appearance is the price. Given the significant changes the upgrades bring, the Saudade kit is quite affordable. The entire body kit, when left unpainted, is priced at 382,800 yen or approximately $2,600. Adding five OZ Racing wheels raises the total to about 520,000 yen (~$3,500), which still feels like a great deal.
