A Dutch-manufactured convertible Defender caught attention at Goodwood with its striking design.

Urban introduced a roofless Defender 90 that features an aggressive body kit at the event. However, the soft top modification was carried out by Heritage Customs, a Dutch company, rather than Urban themselves.

The widebody kit includes flared wheel arches, new bumpers, carbon accents, and aerodynamic enhancements.

Land Rover offers a diverse range of Defender models to cater to different drivers, yet a convertible version is not among them. For Defender owners wanting to enjoy the outdoors, a British tuner is now providing a stylish drop-top conversion for this iconic vehicle.

The tuner involved is Urban Automotive, but interestingly, it was Heritage Customs that removed the roof from this Defender 90, a company that has previously launched a convertible Land Rover.

Urban has revamped the rest of the SUV, giving it a much more aggressive appearance compared to a standard Defender. It would look equally at home in the desert dunes of Dubai or along the coastal roads of Marbella.

The widebody kit features flared fenders, a new vented hood, and updated LED daytime running lights, which immediately enhance the Land Rover’s visibility. Additional features include carbon fiber wing mirror caps, aerodynamic flics at the front, custom badging, and a new set of Urban WX-2 R black wheels fitted with Yokohama Advan Sport tires.

The standout feature of this build is the convertible roof, which consists of a folding soft top and a pair of roll bars situated above the rear seats. Inside, the rear seats have been reupholstered in vibrant Hermes Orange leather. The front cabin is equipped with carbon fiber-backed Recaro seats, also in Hermes Orange, contributing to a notably luxurious atmosphere.

This custom leather treatment extends to the dashboard and steering wheel, ensuring a cohesive and upscale interior, although the color scheme of this specific build may not appeal to everyone.

Urban has not disclosed the total cost of the vehicle showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed; however, the soft top conversion from Heritage Customs alone is priced at €85,000 (approximately $99,000), indicating the significant investment needed for this open-air Defender.
