The Nevera R boasts 1,989 hp thanks to enhanced electric motors and has surpassed the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.
The Nevera R was unveiled last year, making the standard model appear slightly slower.
Rimac has reclaimed the 0-400-0 km/h record from the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.
Reaching 60 mph takes only 1.66 seconds, while achieving 186 mph is accomplished in 7.8 seconds.
Rimac’s reputation for setting world records continues, two years after the original Nevera broke 23 performance records in a single day. The Croatian manufacturer has exceeded its previous achievements by setting world records in 24 categories with the Nevera R. This flagship version of the all-electric hypercar was introduced last year, featuring increased power, improved aerodynamics, and reduced weight.
It’s important to highlight the remarkable achievement of the 0-400-0 km/h (0-249-0 mph) sprint. The original Nevera held this record at 29.93 seconds, previously taken from the Koenigsegg Agera RS, which had a time of 31.49 seconds in 2019. However, last year, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut reclaimed this record, clocking in at 27.83 seconds.
Nevera R Reclaims the Title
Now, the Nevera R holds the title for the quickest 0-400-0 km/h with an astonishing time of 25.79 seconds, which is 2.04 seconds faster than the Jesko and 4.14 seconds quicker than the standard Nevera. Furthermore, the R outperformed the Nevera’s 0-60 mph time of 1.74 seconds, achieving it in 1.66 seconds, and reached 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.72 seconds.
The record-setting continues, as the Nevera R accelerated from 0-100 mph (160 km/h) in 2.96 seconds, an improvement of 0.25 seconds, and completed the 0-200 km/h (124 mph) sprint in 3.95 seconds, which is 0.47 seconds faster. Additionally, it accomplished the 0-300 km/h (0-186 mph) run in just 7.89 seconds, 1.33 seconds quicker than before. The Nevera R also covered the 0-400 km/h (0-250 mph) distance in 17.35 seconds, a significant 3.96 seconds faster than the standard model.
Rimac’s new Nevera R has also set a record for electric vehicle top speed, achieving a remarkable 268.2 mph or 431.45 km/h.
Where the Extra Performance Comes From
While the standard model provides 1,888 hp from its four electric motors, the Nevera R boosts this to 1,989 hp. It is also 35 kg (77 lbs) lighter, comes equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, and generates 15 percent more downforce due, in part, to a larger rear wing.
“When we first launched the Nevera, it seemed as though hypercar performance had reached its peak,” said Mate Rimac. “In just one generation, we achieved a leap in performance that would have previously taken decades. Now, through relentless innovation, the Nevera R goes even faster, while still preserving much of the comfort and practicality that make the Nevera a truly usable daily car.”
