Ferrari F40 Disabled in Hit-and-Run Incident. Are You Able to Recognize the Driver? | Carscoops
The owner of the $3 million Ferrari is looking for the individual who sideswiped his vehicle.
According to the driver of a Ferrari F40, an 18-wheeler sideswiped him late Saturday night. The damage to the luxury car was severe, necessitating the driver to pull over. He hopes that the public can assist him in identifying the semi-truck driver responsible.
Accidents can quickly ruin a fantastic drive, and that's exactly what has occurred here, with additional complicating factors. Firstly, the car involved is a rare Ferrari F40. Secondly, the driver who struck the Ferrari fled before the owner could identify them. Lastly, it seems that authorities have yet to track down the hit-and-run driver. Perhaps you can lend a hand.
The man known as Supercar Ron online reported that the incident took place late on Saturday, June 28, on southbound I-15 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Near the border of Orem and Lindon, a semi-truck allegedly with long wheel lug nuts sideswiped the Ferrari. Ron described the truck as dark-colored, appearing relatively new and seemingly aware of the accident before leaving the scene.
The Ferrari sustained considerable damage, including extensive harm to its body and one wheel. The rear fender and the driver's side were notably damaged, with Kevlar fibers visibly hanging off. The wheel was so severely bent that it was nearly folded in on itself. It's understandable that Ron did not attempt to chase down the driver, as his vehicle would likely sustain further damage.
"We need help locating this individual. Hit-and-run drivers must be held accountable. If you have any information or were in the area and have dashcam footage, please get in touch with me," Ron stated on Instagram.
He also mentioned that he is offering a reward for information about the crash. At least one person online has already claimed to have footage, though they noted its quality is not the best.
We have reached out to that individual but have not yet received additional details. In the meantime, local authorities face a challenging task. Supercar Ron certainly has his own set of challenges as well.
Regardless of whether he finds the responsible party, there is an extensive amount of work needed on the Ferrari. Fortunately, several individuals have already offered to help with the repairs, and he has his own connections to assist him.
