The 2026 Carrera 4S joins the 992.2 generation with increased power and enhanced standard features, with the PDK transmission being the only option.

The 2026 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S includes the full range of updates for the 992.2 model.

It is offered in Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa variants, all featuring all-wheel drive.

The twin-turbo 3.0-liter flat-six engine now produces an additional 30 hp, bringing the total to 473 hp.

With a wider selection of variants than nearly any other sports car, the Porsche 911 caters to a broad audience, hence the numerous new releases following each generation or update.

The latest addition to the refreshed 992.2 lineup is the Carrera 4S, which combines the recently upgraded S powertrain with all-wheel drive and additional features. However, those looking for a manual gearbox will be disappointed, as the PDK dual-clutch is the only transmission offered.

The 2026 911 Carrera 4S is available in Coupe, Cabriolet, and Targa forms, positioned between the rear-wheel-drive Carrera S and the more powerful, all-wheel-drive GTS. Porsche notes that nearly half of US S model buyers select all-wheel drive, highlighting the significance of the 4S in the lineup.

On the exterior, the Carrera 4S adopts the new design elements introduced with the 992.2 Carrera S, including updated bumpers and new lighting systems that now feature Matrix LED technology as standard. Inside, the Coupe provides an option for either a 2-seater or a 2+2 configuration at no added cost, while the Cabriolet and Targa come with rear seats as standard. The interior refresh also includes extended leather trim as standard across the range.

In terms of performance, the key changes are found beneath the rear deck. The newly revised twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine generates 473 hp (353 kW / 480 PS) and 390 lb-ft of torque, matching the Carrera S's output and achieving a 30 hp increase over the previous-generation Carrera 4S.

This engine is exclusively mated to an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, with no manual option available, delivering power to all four wheels via Porsche's rear-biased Traction Management (PTM) system. This system includes a water-cooled front differential and an electromechanically controlled clutch for precise power distribution.

Along with increased power, Porsche has enhanced the car’s standard features. All 4S models now include the Sport Exhaust system with silver tailpipes and upgraded brakes taken from the previous GTS model. Revised dampers also contribute to improved responsiveness and ride comfort.

For those looking to enhance their vehicle further, optional upgrades include the Sport Chrono Package, PASM Sport Suspension for a lower ride height, rear axle steering (standard on the Targa 4S), and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes for better stopping performance.

With the Sport Chrono Package, the Carrera 4S accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0–96 km/h) in just 3.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 191 mph (307 km/h), which is two-tenths of a second faster than the Carrera S and just two-tenths behind the GTS.

Orders for the 2026 911 Carrera 4S are now open in the US, with initial deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of the year. While official pricing has not yet been confirmed due to pending tariff decisions that may increase costs by the time the model is available at dealerships, estimates suggest the Coupe will start around $154,200, the Cabriolet at $167,400, and the Targa at approximately $169,000, placing the new 4S between the $146,400 Carrera S and the $169,800 GTS.
