A special die-cast model of the 1970 Ford Thunderbird will be available for just $35.

Limited signed editions from artist Kenny Scharf will be priced at an astonishing $300.

Pfitzer Designs in California has created a full-sized replica of the custom Thunderbird.

Attention, Ford Thunderbird fans! It has been around 55 years since the fifth-generation model ceased production, but Hot Wheels has teamed up with artist Kenny Scharf to introduce a special die-cast version of the classic two-door. Pre-orders will begin on June 9 at 9.00 a.m. PT, giving you the chance to own a unique Hot Wheels piece, potentially signed by Scharf himself.

The Los Angeles artist has exhibited his creations at the Petersen Automotive Museum and New York City’s Museum of Modern Art, and he has infused his distinctive style into the Thunderbird. The 1:64 die-cast model features a vibrant blue paint job with several red highlights, applied across the front and along the sides.

The bodywork showcases the faces of various unusual creatures, and the Thunderbird is designed with eight side-exiting exhausts, giving it a striking appearance. Among the 100 models produced by Hot Wheels, some will come in a special case and will be personally signed by Scharf.

Perhaps even more impressive than the miniature Thunderbirds is that Hot Wheels collaborated with Pfitzer Designs in California to construct a full-sized version of Scharf’s unique Thunderbird. It replicates the same paint scheme as the 1:64 model and is equipped with a custom hood cowl and upgraded suspension. It also features American Racing 500 wheels fitted with BF Goodrich Silvertown Redline tires.

Naturally, all this style comes at a cost. While an ordinary Hot Wheels car may be less than a cup of coffee, this exclusive Thunderbird is priced at $35. If you’re interested in a signed edition, you should expect to pay $300. However, exclusivity does come at a premium.
