Faraday is Targeting the Model Y and Possibly the RAV4 as Well | Carscoops

Faraday Future has hinted at a brand new electric crossover, likely named the FX 4, which is set to be unveiled shortly.

This model seems to be geared towards competing with the Tesla Model Y and could be priced similarly to a RAV4.

Further information about Faraday’s SUV is anticipated to be shared in the third quarter.

During their Annual Stockholders’ Day, Faraday Future showcased the initial teaser image of the FX 4. More details are expected in the upcoming quarter, with the vehicle being positioned as a “disruptor of [Toyota] RAV4 in the AIEV era.”

This marks the first announcement of the FX 4, as previous discussions revolved around the FX 5, FX 6, and the FX Super One van. The FX 5 is promoted as a “large-space sporty AIEV” priced between $20,000 and $30,000, while the FX 6 is described as a spacious family vehicle expected to fall within the $30,000 to $50,000 range.

Currently, information about the FX 4 is limited, but the teaser indicates that the company is likely creating a competitor to the Tesla Model Y. The details remain to be confirmed, but the vehicle features a full-width light bar and a curvy design. There is also a sculpted hood and slender A-pillars visible.

Though details are scarce, Faraday has stated that they will start accepting pre-orders by the end of this year. The company expressed confidence that this model has “the greatest potential to become a true blockbuster and tap into the mainstream market.”

In relation to teasers, the company shared an image showcasing several prototypes believed to be the FX 4, FX 6, and FX Super One. While they appear quite standard, the vehicle positioned in the center catches our attention.

Regarding the Super One, the AI-MPV is anticipated to have its “exclusive offline product launch” on June 29, followed by a public introduction on July 17.

Faraday has discussed the van for several months and suggests it may “disrupt the market dominance of leading competitors like the Cadillac Escalade.” Adding to the hype, the company claimed over 2,500 non-binding pre-orders have been made.

The van has “officially begun the parts procurement and production preparation phase,” with assembly scheduled to start later this year. However, considering Faraday’s history, we’ll reserve our judgment until it materializes.
