If you're passionate about cosplay or simply want to cause traffic jams wherever you go, this Batmobile is for you.
A custom Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG has been transformed into a street-legal replica of the Batmobile.
It boasts a distinctive Batman-inspired aesthetic, featuring flip-up doors and gigantic wheels.
Manufactured by Specautotuning and AVG Autos, it is equipped with a supercharged V8 engine that produces 493 horsepower.
How much would you be prepared to pay for a custom-built Mercedes inspired by some of the most iconic Batmobiles that is fully street-legal? Well, someone paid $270,000 for this remarkable creation late last year, making it potentially the most outrageous Mercedes-based vehicle we've encountered.
What began as a Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG has been altered into something ideal for the big screen. It was crafted by Specautotuning in Ukraine and AVG Autos in Germany, costing €251,250 (approximately $285,200 at current exchange rates), not including the price of the original donor car.
Over the years, we've seen numerous Batmobile replicas, but this one is truly unique. Instead of trying to replicate a movie car, this custom Batmobile showcases its own original design, ensuring it stands apart from other Bat-themed vehicles. The bodywork, constructed from lightweight composites, is as striking as you'd expect, and it sits on enormous 22.5-inch wheels fitted with tough off-road tires.
The custom Batmobile also features distinctive flip-up doors, large side air intakes, and functional side steps. SBX Cars managed the sale of the vehicle, and while the duration of the build isn't specified, it undoubtedly took a significant amount of time.
As you might expect, some elements of the original Mercedes design remain in the interior, but it has been enhanced with a new infotainment screen and an aftermarket steering wheel.
The original donor car, the CL55 AMG, was initially bright orange and had been modified by Kleeman with a new exhaust system. Powered by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine, it originally produced 493 horsepower, ensuring it had enough power to match its impressive appearance.
While SBX claims that the car is street legal, it’s important to note that this may only apply in the United Arab Emirates, where the vehicle was sold. Therefore, unless you have an address in the UAE, you may want to temper your excitement about driving this car in your local area.
