BMW Motorrad has unveiled the new Concept RR at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
This concept offers a glimpse into the forthcoming RR model and showcases an aerodynamically refined design.
The motorcycle is lightweight due to significant use of carbon fiber and aluminum.
BMW continues to impress at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, where its Motorrad division revealed the new RR concept. Designed to preview the upcoming superbike, the focus is clearly on performance.
The bike features a "sharp, purposeful, and expressive" aesthetic that has been streamlined and stripped of superfluous elements. Aerodynamics are heavily emphasized, with BMW Motorrad highlighting the presence of multiple vents and an aerodynamically optimized fairing that includes integrated winglets.
Additionally, the design incorporates visible carbon fiber and aluminum components. BMW aims to establish a new standard in lightweight construction, with every component, including the frame and aluminum tail, meticulously optimized.
While the motorcycle retains an evolutionary design, several key updates stand out beyond the bodywork. A prominent BMW roundel is integrated into the intake, and we can also observe extended covers, larger headlights, and a minimalist windscreen.
Enhancements include Brembo brakes, Domino grips, and an aluminum fuel tank, along with a digital instrument cluster and an illuminated “RR” at the rear.
BMW states that the motorcycle is driven by a water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine, shared with competitors in the FIM Superbike World Championship. The engine reportedly delivers over 227 hp (169 kW / 230 PS) and comes equipped with electronic control and regulation systems derived directly from the WSBK M 1000 RR.
A Coordinating Jacket Available for Purchase
Alongside the bike, BMW has introduced a matching jacket named the Concept RR LTD. This fashionable piece is crafted from Nappa leather and features “BMW Motorrad” branding below the collar. Created in collaboration with Meindl, the jacket will be produced in limited numbers, with only 50 units available, though pricing details are not yet confirmed.
