This Mustang maintains its vintage aesthetic while incorporating modern technology, featuring a new chassis and a revamped interior.
The redesigned Mustang is built on a new chassis supplied by Roadster Shop. Additionally, it includes upgraded brakes and new Fox coilovers.
ECD Automotive Design is renowned for restomodding Land Rovers and Jaguars, but for its latest endeavor, it has tackled one of the most legendary American cars: the Ford Mustang. The company has modified a distinctive 1967 Mustang Fastback, enhancing its powertrain, refreshing its exterior, and completely revamping its interior.
One of the simplest upgrades for a Mustang restomod is replacing the original engine with a contemporary Coyote 5.0-liter V8. However, ECD decided against that and instead collaborated with Roush to enhance a 347-inch Small Block Ford V8, delivering 465 hp.
The revamped Mustang, referred to by the tuner as the ’67 Ghost, sits on an RS Spec chassis from Roadster Shop and has been finished in a unique High Gloss Mineral White. It also features Santorini Black Metallic racing stripes and is mounted on distinctive 17-inch wheels.
With significantly more power than the factory version, the Mustang benefits from upgraded suspension and braking systems, including adjustable RS SV Fox coilovers and newly designed drilled and slotted rotors with 4-piston brake calipers.
A considerable amount of work has been dedicated to the interior as well. Major upgrades feature heated Recaro seats upholstered in black leather with tan diamond inserts, a brushed aluminum dashboard, new gauges, a custom steering wheel, and a contemporary infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay.
While ECD has not disclosed the price for this 1967 Mustang restomod, the company has already commenced additional projects, including models inspired by Shelby and Boss designs.
