2026 Charger Daytona Produces a 670 HP Sedan | Carscoops
The Dodge Charger lineup is expanding to include a sedan and a twin-turbo inline-six.
Dodge has launched the 2026 Charger Daytona sedan, which is almost identical to the coupe. It has an extra weight of 50 lbs and is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that produces 630 hp. Dealers are now taking orders, with deliveries expected to start later this year.
Dodge has officially announced the 2026 Charger Daytona lineup, which features an entirely new liftback sedan. This model closely resembles the coupe, sharing fascias, roofline, and liftgate across both body styles.
Nonetheless, the new five-door version is set to be considerably more practical, maintaining the same interior and exterior dimensions. This means it offers 37.2 inches (945 mm) of rear seat legroom and a cargo capacity of up to 37.4 cubic feet (1,059 liters).
Regarding the interior, it is well-equipped with a 16-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, it includes a heated steering wheel, a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a garage door opener, and cloth/leatherette seating.
The vehicle also comes with an extensive array of driver assistance technologies, such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, Active Driving Assist, and Active Lane Management, along with features like Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind-Spot Detection with Rear Cross Path Alert, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning.
Options Abound
While the base model is equipped with several features, the Plus trim introduces more upscale LED headlights, a power liftgate, and a front trunk. Inside, it gains a wireless smartphone charger, a 64-color ambient lighting system, a power tilt/telescoping steering column, a ParkView 360 surround view camera system, and an upgraded alarm.
Additional options include a panoramic glass roof, an 18-speaker Alpine premium audio system, and a Carbon & Suede package. There’s also a Blacktop package available, which adds dark badging and 20-inch dark-finished wheels.
As for design, there's a new gloss black painted hood, and the 2026 models can also feature matte black Fratzog stripes with red accents following a repeating pattern.
AWD and 670 HP
The 2026 Charger Daytona lineup is available only in Scat Pack form, featuring a 100.5 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel drive system generating 630 hp (470 kW / 639 PS) and 627 lb-ft (849 Nm) of torque. Additionally, a PowerShot function can provide an extra 40 hp (30 kW / 41 PS) for brief periods of 10 seconds.
Both the sedan and coupe can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds, complete a quarter mile in 11.5 seconds, and reach a top speed of 135 mph (217 km/h). While these figures are impressive, the 241-mile (388 km) range isn't particularly compelling.
For battery recharging, a 350 kW DC fast charger can increase the charge from 20-80% in only 24 minutes. Using a more typical 175 kW DC fast charger will take approximately 42 minutes for the same charge. Charging at home with an 11 kW Level 2 charger will take around 5.4 hours to reach 20-80%.
For those seeking peak performance, an optional Track package is available. This package features 20-inch aluminum wheels along with a Brembo braking system equipped with red six- and four-piston calipers. It also includes a dual valve adaptive damping suspension, a gloss black rear spoiler, a drive experience recorder, and leather/suede performance seats with fixed headrests.
Now Available for Orders
Dodge is presently accepting orders for both the 2026 Charger Daytona coupe and sedan. While the company has not disclosed pricing, deliveries are expected to commence in the latter half of this year.
However, it may be wise to wait as the Charger Sixpack is anticipated to arrive later in 2025. This model is particularly noteworthy for its twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine, producing outputs of 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS).
