The updated Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door aims to compete with the Audi e-tron GT and Porsche Taycan.

Set to launch this summer, it boasts a sleek new design and an advanced electric powertrain.

Mercedes’ design team has faced challenges, with several less successful models like the CLA, EQE, and EQS. However, it seems a potential hit is on the way as the company hints at a new sophisticated sedan.

While not revealing much, Mercedes-AMG announced "something big is coming" this June, accompanied by a shadowy teaser image displaying a sophisticated sports car featuring a prominent nose and prominent headlights.

Additionally, there’s an aerodynamic windshield that transitions into a sporty roofline extending nearly to the rear of the vehicle. Muscular rear haunches and a spacious greenhouse are also evident.

Despite the company being somewhat secretive, it seems they are hinting at the revamped GT 4-Door. The model has been spotted by spy photographers multiple times, although it has been heavily camouflaged, making the reveal more surprising.

The vehicle is expected to enter production later this year and will utilize the "first dedicated electric vehicle architecture developed by Mercedes-AMG," known as the AMG Electric Architecture (AMG.EA). This model aims to be a "technological trailblazer, introducing numerous new innovations."

Information remains scarce, but this competitor to the Porsche Taycan is anticipated to feature a high-performance battery and axial-flux motors. The model was initially previewed by the Vision AMG concept, and rumors suggest the top variant may boast around 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS).
