One potential drawback of the Solus GT is that it is not street-legal.

This Solus GT features a striking blue and orange paint scheme inspired by Gulf Racing.

Its power comes from a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that drives the rear wheels.

The starting price for the Solus GT was approximately $4 million in the United States.

In 2022, McLaren revealed its Vision Gran Turismo Concept, a futuristic digital vehicle that ultimately led to the development of the track-only Solus GT. With only 25 units produced globally, the Solus GT stands as one of the most audacious and extravagant cars McLaren has created since the P1. Next month, one of these remarkable machines will be going to auction.

This specific Solus GT is part of the Triple F Collection, owned by Dave Frecka, who is known for housing some of the world's most incredible cars but has chosen to part with a few. Recently, he listed his custom Rimac Nevera on Bring a Trailer. Despite its staggering €2.1 million ($2.4 million) asking price, the highest bid reached only $1.27 million. He is likely hoping for more enthusiasm for this McLaren Solus GT.

The vehicle is the sixth of the 25 units produced and boasts a Gulf Racing-inspired livery primarily in orange and bright blue. It also includes a set of spare wheels painted in blue, showcasing its extreme nature. This is particularly evident in the interior, which features a single, centrally-positioned seat upholstered in blue Alcantara alongside contrasting orange seat belts. The seat is fixed, while the pedals can be adjusted.

The most intriguing aspect of the Solus GT is its unique 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, which is not found in any other McLaren model. This 10-cylinder powerhouse is constructed from a Judd block and produces an impressive 829 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, nearly 200 hp more than the Lamborghini Huracan with its 5.2-liter V10.

Thanks to the supercar’s lightweight carbon fiber design, it can accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.5 seconds and can exceed speeds of 200 mph (320 km/h). The vehicle generates up to 2,646 lbs (1,200 kg) of downforce, enabling it to take corners faster than any of McLaren’s road-legal models.

While Mecum Auctions has not revealed Frecka's purchase price for the Solus GT, speculation suggests it likely started around $4 million. Therefore, for anyone daring enough to pursue this vehicle, be aware that you’re entering into something exceptionally unique and likely very, very pricey.

If the price doesn't discourage you, you can view the complete listing for further details. Who knows? You might end up owning the most extreme McLaren ever created.

One possible disadvantage of the Solus GT is that it is not legal for street use.
