A mysterious Urus has been spotted at the Nurburgring, showcasing a variety of modifications.

Lamborghini seems to be developing a refreshed Urus, which might debut next year.

The prototype includes a redesigned front end, a new hood, and updated headlights.

      We anticipate a plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine.

The Lamborghini Urus made its debut in 2017 and underwent a significant update in 2024, which introduced a plug-in hybrid option, along with refreshed styling and an updated interior.

Looking ahead, it appears that the popular SUV may receive another update. While that is yet to be confirmed, spy photographers have recently captured a cryptic prototype being tested at the Nürburgring.

The modifications are quite considerable, including a new hood, sleeker headlights with altered daytime running lights, and an entirely new front design, which has more prominent horizontal bars and angular accents that connect to the upper fascia. A new central intake has also been designed, evolving from the one used in the current Urus Performante.

The rear largely retains the design of the previous variant but seems to have a larger spoiler and a restructured bumper, which now includes new angular accents near the reflectors.

Little additional information is available about this model at this time, but warning stickers suggest it has a plug-in hybrid powertrain. In the Urus SE, this consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, a 25.9 kWh battery, and an electric motor, allowing the vehicle to generate 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS) and travel over 37 miles (60 km) solely on electric power.

While this prototype might represent the next phase of the Urus SE, it is also possible that Lamborghini is expanding its range of plug-in hybrids. The existing Urus S and Urus Performante do not employ this technology, so they may receive it in the upcoming refresh.
