With Jeep sales plummeting, the company seems to be tapping into nostalgia at this year’s Easter Safari in Moab.
Jeep has introduced seven new concepts for the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah.
The models showcase a range of styles, but the standout may be the Bug Out 4xe.
This year's theme seems to revolve around nostalgia, featuring retro graphics and a truck reminiscent of the SJ series.
Each spring, Jeep enthusiasts flock to Moab as if it were Christmas for off-road lovers, with Jeep arriving to deliver the gifts—dusty, lifted, terrain-conquering presents. The Easter Jeep Safari is essentially the brand's annual showcase, allowing engineers and designers to break the mold and create fascinating, sometimes eccentric vehicles simply for the sake of creativity.
This year's event continues this tradition as the off-road brand shows up with seven new concepts that vary from retro-inspired designs to trail-ready hybrids and experimental models. Some of these vehicles serve practical purposes while others are just for fun, with at least one appearing as if it had lost a wager involving a parts catalog.
**Jeep Convoy**
The first model is the retro-themed Convoy concept, based on the Gladiator Mojave. It features a front end inspired by the SJ, along with a J-truck style hood. Additional features include canvas half doors and a Ghost Ops matte finish.
Other notable components are a 12,000 lb Warn winch, low-back leather seats, and 17-inch wheels outfitted with 40-inch BFGoodrich Krawler tires.
**Jeep Bug Out 4xe**
Next is the Bug Out 4xe concept, built on the plug-in hybrid Wrangler. This two-door vehicle has been stripped down, extended by 12 inches (305 mm), and transformed into a truck.
The design also incorporates a raised roof, a custom hood, and 18-inch wheels with 37-inch BFG KM3 tires. Moreover, the rear bed is designed for a sleeping hammock, positioning it as a “mobile campsite.”
**Jeep J6 Honcho**
Retro color enthusiasts have much to rejoice about as there are three models with a nostalgic flair. The J6 Honcho concept is a two-door truck lifted by 2 inches (51 mm) and features bronze 17-inch wheels wrapped in 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud terrain tires.
This Scrambler-inspired truck includes a Warn winch, steel fender flares, and a custom sport bar. Inside, it features bronze details and no radio for added quietness.
**Jeep Gladiator High Top Honcho**
The Gladiator High Top Honcho concept is somewhat similar but presented as a four-door truck with heritage-inspired designs. It boasts an adjustable air suspension, AEV front bumper, and a Decked bed storage system.
Notably, it features white steel wheels fitted with 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires and Dana 60 axles with 5.38:1 gearing.
**Jeep Rewind Concept**
Next is the two-door Rewind concept based on the Wrangler Rubicon, designed to capture the essence of ‘80s/’90s kitsch with a Grimace purple exterior and custom graphics reminiscent of the Jazz pattern seen on disposable cups.
The custom design extends to the seats, and the vehicle includes a “vintage cellular car phone.” It also features gold-painted 17-inch AEV wheels with 37-inch BFG KM3 M/T tires.
**Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon Sunchaser**
The Wrangler 4xe Rubicon Sunchaser concept is designed to accommodate a full day of activities from sunrise to sunset. It includes side-mounted storage boxes similar to those on the Land Rover Defender.
Additional features include a roof rack, rock rails, and a custom leather interior, along with a 2-inch (51 mm) lift kit and 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud terrain tires.
**Jeep Wrangler 4xe Blueprint**
Lastly, from the ‘burn it with fire’ category, is the Wrangler 4xe Blueprint concept. It's a mobile eyesore adorned with “over 35 accessories finished in contrasting Mopar Blue [paint] and marked with QR codes.”
Though it may not win any beauty contests, it is equipped with steel bumpers, a 2-inch (51 mm) lift, and three different styles of 17-inch wheels, as well as tubular doors, a snorkel, and auxiliary lights.
