Chevrolet has unveiled the new Silverado EV ZR2 race truck concept.

This model includes a lifted suspension, Multimatic dampers, and 37-inch mud-terrain tires.

It is powered by a tri-motor all-wheel drive system generating a total output of 1,100 hp.

Rugged trucks have gained significant popularity among consumers, and within this market, Chevrolet’s ZR2 lineup stands out. Now, the company offers a sneak peek at what an electric variant could resemble.

Introduced at the Mint 400 off-road race, the Silverado EV ZR2 race truck concept was created in just five months and largely comprises production parts. Since it will compete in the event, the pickup sports a lifted suspension and Multimatic continuously adaptive dampers, allowing for over 13 inches (330 mm) of wheel travel.

The enhancements continue with extended fender flares and distinctive wheels fitted with 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires. Additional features include locking differentials, underbody protection, and a variety of auxiliary lights. Key highlights also encompass rock rails, red recovery hooks, and a ZR2-branded sport bar.

While the standard Silverado EV is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers up to 760 hp (567 kW / 771 PS) and 785 lb-ft (1,063 Nm) of torque, the concept boasts significantly greater power. Specifically, it has a tri-motor powertrain that produces a total of 1,100 hp (820 kW / 1,115 PS) and an impressive 11,500 lb-ft (15,574 Nm) of torque. However, it's fair to say that the latter figure is more theoretical than practical.

Chevrolet Vice President Scott Bell stated, “There is no better proving ground to test the limits of our vehicles than competitive racing. The Silverado EV ZR2 race truck concept, which utilizes 98% GM production parts, exemplifies Chevrolet’s capabilities to create a highly capable pickup ready for the demands of a race as challenging as the Mint 400.”

Although the ZR2 remains a concept for now, Chevrolet has announced that the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss will be available this summer. Further details will be released in the coming weeks, but this truck will include a factory-installed lift and 18-inch wheels equipped with 35-inch all-terrain tires.
