Happy Valentine’s Day to the man who just ‘wed’ his 1971 Ford Falcon.

We’ve witnessed a variety of car-themed weddings, from vows shared during high-speed laps to a ceremony where a couple posed with their Nissans for photos. However, the concept of a wedding in which the car is one of the partners? That’s certainly a first. A man from Queensland, Australia, known as “Brisbane’s biggest car enthusiast,” celebrated Valentine's Day this year by “marrying” his 1971 Ford Falcon. Ismet “Giz” (soft ‘g’) Vojic, who has been married for 30 years and is a father of two, decided to enter into a (non-binding) union with his blue sedan.
The wedding was organized by the morning show of local radio station Triple M Brisbane, “Breakfast with Marto, Margaux & Dan,” with Greg “Marto” Martin officiating the ceremony. The Falcon made its way down the aisle (complete with a veil), and the vows were filled with automotive puns, including phrases like “keeping the spark alive” and “jump-start.”
“I can share him, as long as she stays down the shed,” Vojic's wife shared with 9 News Australia.
As reported by radioinfo.com.au, Vojic’s “obsession” has led him to own three cars. Personally, I can relate, as I’ve had more than three cars at different times in my life, but it never crossed my mind to marry any of them—not even the Miata that my ex-wife humorously referred to as “the other woman.”
Nonetheless, I admire Vojic's dedication to this theme. There’s likely more to this story, but since we’re not fans of “Breakfast with Marto, Margaux & Dan,” we’ll only be able to observe this inside joke from afar.

If you watch until the end, you’ll spot an unusual interloper. Despite the automotive theme, a bright-red Supra doesn’t quite match the setting. However, if you look closely, you’ll see the SuperCheap Auto sponsor decal prominently displayed on the hood, matching Vojic’s suit. Brand placement, you never change.
