Rivian has begun accepting orders for its electric delivery van aimed at fleet customers.

Two models are available, with prices starting at $79,900.

These vans offer 315 hp and a maximum range of 161 miles.

For those intrigued by the sound of an Amazon delivery vehicle, Rivian has started selling its commercial van to fleet clients, marking a notable change since Amazon previously had an exclusivity deal with Rivian.

With that agreement now concluded, customers can place orders for the Rivian Delivery 500 and the Delivery 700. The Delivery 500 starts at $79,900, measures 248.5 inches (6,312 mm) in length, has a cargo capacity of 487 cubic feet (13,790 liters), and can carry payloads up to 2,663 lbs (1,208 kg).

The Delivery 700 is quite similar but is priced from $83,900 and stretches 278 inches (7,061 mm) long. Due to its additional length, cargo capacity increases to 652 cubic feet (18,463 liters), although the payload capacity decreases to 2,258 lbs (1,024 kg).

Both models are equipped with a 100 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that powers a front-mounted motor delivering 315 hp (235 kW / 320 PS) and 299 lb-ft (405 Nm) of torque, resulting in an approximate range of 160 miles (257 km). Charging may take some time, as the vans support DC fast charging with a maximum rate of 100 kW.

Customers will find a rather simple interior featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 15.4-inch infotainment screen. Additional amenities include a heated and cooled driver's seat and a jump seat for the front passenger.

Designed to be among the safest vehicles available, the Rivian commercial van includes a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies. These features encompass Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Speed Limit Information, alongside Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Warning, and High Beam Assist. Additional highlights include a surround-view camera, a backup warning system, and Surround Park Assist.

Although these vans are priced higher than Chevy's Brightdrop models and provide considerably less range, Rivian's Tom Solomon mentioned that “Amazon currently has over 20,000 in its fleet and delivered more than a billion packages … in 2024 alone.” He further commented, “We’re excited to now offer sales to fleets of all sizes in the US, whether they require one van or thousands.”
