Cadillac's new Optiq costs only $83 less per month to lease compared to the larger Lyriq | Carscoops
Although more affordable than the Lyriq, the Optiq still comes with a hefty price tag at $489 per month with an upfront payment of $4,799, leading to an effective monthly cost of $622.
The 2025 Cadillac Optiq offers a cheaper leasing option compared to the Tesla Model Y Launch Series.
Each model of the Optiq features the same 85 kWh battery and provides 300 miles of driving range.
The 2025 Cadillac Optiq is now available for lease in the U.S., presenting a more budget-friendly option within Cadillac's electric vehicle lineup compared to the larger Lyriq. However, Cadillac aims to do more than just compete with its own models; the Optiq's lease pricing also positions it as an attractive alternative to the top-ranked Tesla Model Y. Should this be the luxury EV lease deal you've been waiting for, or is it better to keep exploring your options?
The manufacturer has revealed that leasing the 2025 Optiq costs $489 per month for a 36-month term with a mileage limit of 10,000 miles, requiring $4,779 upon signing, based on an MSRP of $54,390 including delivery. This totals to an effective monthly payment of $622 before applicable taxes and fees. While this is fairly pricey compared to recent leasing offers for other electric vehicles, it's only slightly less expensive than the 2025 Lyriq, which charges $569 per month for 36 months with $4,889 due at signing, amounting to $705 per month.
It’s important to note that putting money down on a lease isn't always the best strategy, but these figures serve as the manufacturer’s reference point and can be used for negotiation.
In comparison to the Tesla Model Y, leasing details have been provided for the Long Range All-Wheel Drive Launch Series of the updated 'Juniper' model, which costs $699 monthly over a 36-month term with $2,999 down, resulting in an effective payment of $782 monthly. Should you match the $4,779 down payment for the Optiq, the monthly cost would drop to $642, rising to $774 when factoring in the upfront payment.
If the newer Model Y feels too pricey, Tesla still has the pre-facelift Long Range All-Wheel Drive model available at $346 per month for a 36-month lease, with $4,779 down, which makes it significantly more affordable than the Optiq. Nonetheless, the Cadillac does appear to provide a more luxurious experience compared to the Model Y’s more minimalistic design.
A More Budget-Friendly Option?
For those wanting to lease an electric vehicle without overspending, there are even more economical choices available. CarsDirect highlights that in some areas, the GM-based 2024 Acura ZDX can be leased for as low as $299 per month for 24 months with a $2,999 down payment, bringing the effective cost to $424 before taxes and fees, making it nearly $200 less expensive than the Optiq. Some lessees have reported even better deals on Leashackr, with offers as low as $265 per month for 24 months with a 7,000-mile annual limit, requiring only $2,000 at signing.
Every version of the Cadillac Optiq is equipped with an 85 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors that deliver 300 hp and 354 lb-ft (479 Nm) of torque. Cadillac states that the Optiq has a driving range of 300 miles (483 km), which is a bit less than the 320 miles (515 km) offered by the new Model Y Launch Series.
