Gunther Werks has recently finalized its $850,000 Speedster and has rolled out a warranty that surpasses Porsche’s offering.

Porsche's warranty has been bested by a specialist in restomods based in California.

Gunther Werks has completed its exclusive 993-based Speedster, combining classic aesthetics with contemporary carbon fiber accents.

While Porsche provides a 4-year/50,000-mile limited warranty in the U.S., a solid deal by most measures, Gunther Werks has taken it a step further—by a significant margin, specifically 50,000 miles.

This small American firm, recognized for its exceptionally detailed 993-based builds, has launched a new 5-year/100,000-mile warranty for its entire lineup. Of course, it would be interesting to meet someone who actually drives a Gunther for 20,000 miles.

Even more notably, this warranty applies retroactively to all Gunther Werks vehicles currently on the road.

      What’s the Reasoning Behind This?

“Our strategy has been in the works for several months,” said Peter Nam, the founder and CEO. “This is something we aimed to implement because we trust the quality of our engineering. When Hyundai rolled out its 10-year/100,000-mile warranty, it changed perceptions of quality and assurance.”

“We are adopting that same mindset for our niche, not because our vehicles necessitate it, but because we fully support every build. Most of our customers will likely never approach those mileage figures, but the fact that they can if they choose speaks volumes about our dedication,” Nam elaborated.

      What Sets These Vehicles Apart?

Gunther Werks announced this new standard warranty just as it completed the production of its stunning Speedster. Limited to only 25 units globally, it may well be the most exquisite 993-based model available.

Each Speedster features a carbon fiber body, flared wheel arches, custom rollover hoops, and an upgraded interior adorned with leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber.

The power comes from a 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six sourced from Rothsport Racing, producing 435 hp and 335 lb-ft (454 Nm) of torque, paired with a manual transmission.

With a jaw-dropping starting price of approximately $850,000, it’s only fitting that the company has introduced a comprehensive warranty for it and future models. Speaking of future endeavors, Gunther Werks has some exciting projects lined up.

Now that production of the Speedster has concluded, the company is focusing on the Turbo, equipped with a twin-turbocharged flat-six generating 750 hp, limited to just 75 units.

Additionally, it is developing a high-performance 911, known as the F-26, which boasts 1,000 hp and takes visual cues from the 936 Slantnose and 911 Slantnose.
