Despite having just 1,700 miles, the luxury SUV did not sell after bidders identified several issues.
The $121,000 Lucid Gravity failed to meet its reserve price during a recent auction.
Visible scratches and signs of potential keying raised concerns about its condition.
The seller also stated that they were listing it on behalf of a friend who did not have the title available.
The Lucid Gravity is recognized as one of the most luxurious and high-performance electric SUVs to enter the market, but even with its impressive features, one low-mileage unit recently went unsold at auction, as bidders were not willing to meet the reserve price set by the seller. It appears that both the state of the vehicle and the seller's response to inquiries deterred prospective buyers.
This specific Gravity is a Touring model in Abyss Black, featuring the Dynamic Handling Package, the Surreal Sound Pro audio system, and Lucid's DreamDrive 2 driver assistance technology.
According to the window sticker, it had an MSRP of $121,050, and considering it had only been driven 1,700 miles (2,735 km) at the time of the auction, it was anticipated to attract bids exceeding $100,000, but that did not happen.
After being on the platform for a week, the highest bid for the SUV reached $87,287. Overall, the exterior appeared to be in decent condition, but there was a noticeable three-inch gash on the tailgate, an eight-inch scratch on the rear passenger side door, and a three-inch scratch on one of the quarter panels.
It remains unclear what caused this damage, but it seems like it may have been intentionally keyed, and the panels would require repainting, which could become an expensive task for any new owner.
According to the seller, they listed the Gravity for a friend who had owned it for two weeks but decided that he preferred his previous Tesla Model X.
However, some commenters expressed skepticism about this claim, suggesting that the seller was merely trying to flip the SUV.
Regarding documentation issues, the seller mentioned that the title for the vehicle had not yet arrived and could take up to two weeks to process. This delay would complicate the transaction and slow down the sale process for any potential buyer.
Additionally, the sale of this Gravity was likely affected by the availability of a Grand Touring model that can be ordered directly from Lucid with immediate delivery for just over $100,000.
