The electric crossover boasts refreshed styling, extended range, and enhanced power.

Subaru has revealed that pricing for the 2026 Solterra will begin at $38,495, remaining the same as the previous model, even as the tax credit comes to an end. The updates include a maximum range of up to 288 miles and a new 338 hp XT trim.

This year, Subaru unveiled a partially redesigned Solterra and has officially set its starting price at $38,495, consistent with its predecessor, despite offering over a 25 percent increase in range.

The entry-level Solterra Premium features a design that's rather forgettable, equipped with an illuminated logo and new headlights. Additionally, it comes with rain-sensing wipers, a power liftgate, and redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels.

The interior avoids quirky designs and includes a freestanding 7-inch digital instrument cluster alongside an all-new 14-inch infotainment system, a new dashboard, and an updated center console featuring a dual 15-watt wireless smartphone charger.

Also included are a leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats made of StarTex, with a 10-way power adjustable driver seat. The crossover is equipped with ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror with Homelink.

On the equipment front, the model comes with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Hands-Free Low Speed Driving, and Emergency Steering Assist, along with Front Cross-Traffic Alert, Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure Alert, Emergency Stop Assist, a Blind Spot Monitor, and Collision Avoidance Assist with Automatic Steering.

Power is provided by a new 74.7 kWh battery pack, offering 288 miles (463 km) of range, paired with an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive system generating 233 hp. Additional features include an enhanced 11 kW onboard charger and a new North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.

For those looking for a cheaper option, the Solterra Limited starts at $41,395, which is $600 less than the previous year's model. This variant features larger 20-inch wheels and power-folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, as well as a dual rear spoiler and a power liftgate with a kick sensor.

The cabin upgrades include a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, a power passenger seat, a 120V rear power outlet, parking assist, and a Panoramic View Monitor. While the powertrain remains unchanged, the range decreases to 278 miles (447 km). However, customers can opt for the Limited XT at $42,895, which features an upgraded dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with 338 hp, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in under five seconds, with the range still at 278 miles.

Finally, the pinnacle model is the Solterra Touring XT, starting at $45,555, focusing on luxury with heated and ventilated front seats featuring radiant leg warmers. It includes a digital rearview mirror, a panoramic moonroof, LED footwell lighting, and a retractable cargo cover.

The 2026 Solterra is set to arrive at dealerships this fall, and customers who purchase or lease the EV will have access to a Subaru rental vehicle for up to 10 days, allowing them to leave the EV at home during long trips without worrying about charging.
