Vacuum Maker's SUV Is a Copy of the Rolls Royce Cullinan That Will Be Manufactured Close to Tesla | Carscoops
Dreame Auto has recently unveiled teaser images of its second production vehicle.
The Chinese tech company plans to introduce an SUV reminiscent of the Rolls Royce Cullinan in 2027. Both this SUV and a four-door vehicle inspired by Bugatti will be manufactured in proximity to Tesla's facility in Germany.
After already appropriating Bugatti's intellectual property for its inaugural car, Dreame Auto appears to have borrowed from Rolls Royce as well. The tech firm, primarily known for its vacuum cleaners, has shared the first teaser images of its upcoming SUV, clearly influenced by the $400,000 Cullinan.
The shadowy images and short video clip provide glimpses of a striking SUV, featuring a prominent grille similar to that of Rolls Royce, without copying the Cullinan’s distinct Spirit of Ecstasy. It also showcases a row of LED lights on either side. The design is chunky but softened with the rounded edge of the hood and fender. It's interesting to speculate on the source of this inspiration.
Notably, the resemblance to Rolls Royce is not limited to the front; the rear design also draws heavily from it, particularly with taillights that share similarities and a hint of a sedan-like trunk profile at the bottom of the rear window. A major distinction is a chrome strip that runs between the taillights, which I find preferable.
This luxury SUV will be fully unveiled at tomorrow’s Global Strategic Partner Conference and is expected to enter the market in 2027, coinciding with the launch of the Bugatti-inspired sedan. Although these vehicles target different markets, they will reportedly be produced together in Germany, near Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory. The Bugatti replica is set to be unveiled at CES in Las Vegas next January.
Current technical specifics are limited, but in social media updates, the founder of Dreame, Yu Hao, mentioned a new preheating technology aimed at ensuring the SUV’s combustion (likely hybrid) engine reaches optimal temperature from the outset. This system is claimed to reduce fuel consumption by 38 percent and emissions by 43 percent.
Additionally, he noted a smart chassis utilizing an AI algorithm to monitor the road and adjust the active suspension, the largest rear-wheel turning angle, and the smallest turning radius among vehicles in its category, along with a complete brake-by-wire system.
An earlier post, presumably about the Bugatti-style sedan, mentions an impressive drag coefficient of 0.185 and a Super Track Mode that accelerates from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in under 1.8 seconds. Reports from Chinese media indicate that the vehicle will offer both electric and range extender powertrain options.
Dreame's aspirations extend far beyond these two vehicles. The company is reportedly organizing its fledgling automotive division into two branches: Dreame Auto, focused on achieving hypercar speed records with its Chiron-inspired model, and a new initiative named Starry Sky Auto. This division is said to be benchmarking Rolls Royce and Bentley models while developing four vehicles based on shared components, including the Cullinan depicted here. It seems that Dreame’s lineup of "inspired" vehicles is just beginning.
