      A 2012 Honda was recorded on dashcam as it soared across New York’s Sunrise Highway.

      Due to a seizure, the driver ascended an embankment, causing the vehicle to take off.

      Although it flew over six lanes of traffic, the driver sustained only minor injuries.

      The afternoon commute in Bay Shore, New York took an unexpected turn on Wednesday when a car soared over all six lanes of the Sunrise Highway. The astonishing event was captured on dashcam and resembles a scene from The Dukes of Hazzard.

      In the video, the dashcam-equipped vehicle is moving down the highway when a car unexpectedly launches into the air. This appears to happen suddenly, with the sedan clearing the divider and kicking up a cloud of dust in its wake.

      The car seems to land nose-first before disappearing from view. This certainly startled the driver of the dashcam vehicle, who can be seen navigating through the debris while uttering some expletives.

      According to News 12, the incident took place around 5 PM when a 70-year-old driving a Honda accelerated up an embankment while on Pine Acres Boulevard. This propelled the car across the highway, where it eventually came to rest against a tree.

      The New York Post reports that the man experienced a seizure, which led to him losing control and speeding up the embankment. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is anticipated to fully recover.

      As a spokesperson for the fire department explained to the publication, “He had a medical episode that resulted in him losing control and being propelled up the embankment on the service road, flying over both the westbound and eastbound lanes before landing in the embankment on the eastbound side.”
