BMW's Smallest SUV Is Receiving A Neue Klasse Design | Carscoops

      Spy photographers have captured images of what is believed to be the updated BMW X1, which features a significantly revamped exterior that incorporates design elements from the newer X3 and iX3.

      In addition to the Neue Klasse front design, this crossover includes retractable door handles.

      Earlier today, BMW officially kicked off the Neue Klasse era with the introduction of the redesigned iX3. However, this is just the beginning, as features from the Neue Klasse will be integrated into nearly 40 new models and updates between now and 2027.

      Spy photographers have already documented several forthcoming vehicles, such as the refreshed M5 and the 2027 X5. Now, we are getting a look at another vehicle believed to be the facelifted X1.

      Identifying these models is usually straightforward, but this crossover closely resembles a Neue Klasse-styled X3. It sports a minimalist grille and the company's new horizontal lighting signature, along with a wide lower intake and a new hood that has a "valley" in the center.

      As we look further back, we can see flush-mounted door handles and side skirts reminiscent of the iX3. The model also seems to feature new side mirrors that resemble those found on the X3.

      The extensive updates continue at the rear, where the model has a new bumper and updated lighting. Observant viewers will also note the revised liftgate, which has a relocated license plate area.

      While the interior was not visible to photographers, the cabin is expected to be equipped with a Panoramic iDrive system. This suggests a pillar-to-pillar display will be included, as well as a 17.9-inch infotainment screen.

      The scale of these changes is surprising given that the third-generation X1 is relatively new. Typically, one would expect minor updates, but this appears to be a substantial redesign, exceeding the updates seen in the refreshed 5-Series.

      Engine options remain unconfirmed at this time but might carry over. More details are anticipated in the coming months.
