Toyota has introduced the Camry Sprint Edition in India, featuring matte black accents and a bodykit.

There are no performance or chassis enhancements compared to the standard hybrid model.

Pricing starts at ₹48.50 lakh ($55,500), which aligns with the Camry Hybrid Elegant trim in India.

While the Toyota Camry may not be the blockbuster it once was, given today's focus on SUVs and crossovers, it remains one of the most popular vehicles worldwide, with 593,000 units sold in 2024. To maintain interest and attract new buyers, the Japanese manufacturer has launched the Camry Sprint Edition in India, based on its hybrid sedan platform.

This special edition is produced by Toyota Kirloskar Motor, a local partnership between Toyota and the Kirloskar Group responsible for the sales and production of the brand's vehicles in India. It boasts a distinctive livery and select dealer-installed accessories, imparting a sportier look to the otherwise standard mid-size sedan.

      Striking Two-Tone Design

The most prominent feature of the Camry Sprint Edition is the Matte Black finish on the hood, roof, pillars, and trunk, giving it a striking two-tone appearance. Buyers can choose this finish alongside one of five body colors: Emotional Red, Platinum White Pearl, Cement Grey, Precious Metal, or Dark Blue Metallic.

New black alloy wheels and a bodykit finalize the exterior modifications. The kit provides sharper front and rear bumper extensions and a lip spoiler at the rear. Toyota has released only one official image, leaving it uncertain whether these aerodynamic components resemble those of last year's Camry Glorious Edition available in China.

      Same Hybrid Powertrain

Regrettably, the Sprint Edition does not include any performance or chassis updates from the standard Camry Hybrid. The powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter hybrid setup, delivering a combined output of 227 hp (169 kW / 230 PS) and 221 Nm (163 lb-ft) of torque. Unlike the US model that offers all-wheel drive, the Indian variant is available solely with front-wheel drive.

Similar to many special editions, the Sprint emphasizes on features in addition to styling. Standard equipment includes a digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays, a 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor, a 10-way power driver’s seat with lumbar support, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a head-up display, and Toyota’s Safety Sense 3.0 ADAS suite.

The Camry Hybrid Sprint Edition is now available for order in India, priced at ₹48.50 lakh (approximately US$55,500). Interestingly, this matches the cost of the Hybrid Elegant trim, the only other option available in the online configurator. Both models are manufactured at Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s Bidadi plant exclusively for the domestic market.
