Following an argument, a woman allegedly damaged her ex-partner’s vehicle, breaking the windshield and pouring salt into the engine.
Reportedly from Kentucky, the woman is said to have caused $12,465 in damages to the car, including a slashed tire, a cracked windshield, and vents filled with glitter. If found guilty, she could face up to five years in prison and fines reaching $10,000.
The phrase "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" has taken on a new interpretation, as a 31-year-old Kentucky woman reportedly wrecked her ex-boyfriend's car after an argument, inflicting damage amounting to $12,464.96.
Details remain sparse, but according to WKYT, the Richmond Police reported that the couple had a dispute early last month, after which the woman allegedly slashed one of the man's tires.
Later, another argument seemed to have erupted on July 15, leading Carlquist to reportedly crack the windshield and dump salt into the engine. She is also alleged to have poured glitter into the air vents, damaged the rearview mirror, and shattered the radio/infotainment display.
Due to the significant damage, a tow truck was called to transport the vehicle to a local repair shop. Interestingly, Carlquist is said to have admitted to the tow truck driver that she was responsible for the damage, prompting the driver to contact the victim's mother to relay that information.
This seems to have triggered a chain of events, which included Carlquist expressing remorse for her actions on Instagram. However, during her police interview, she reportedly claimed she had only cracked the windshield and added glitter to the vents.
The authorities did not accept her statement, leading to Carlquist's arrest on August 14. According to records from the Madison County Detention Center, she was charged with first-degree criminal mischief, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines. While the outcome of the case remains uncertain, it is noted that Carlquist was assigned a $12,000 cash bond and was released on August 18.
