In the meantime, the big Bronco is performing exceptionally well this year.

The Bronco Sport experienced a decline in July despite strong sales in the first seven months.

Larger SUVs such as the Bronco, Explorer, and Expedition saw significant double-digit increases.

Lincoln’s Aviator performed remarkably in July while the Corsair and Nautilus faced challenges in gaining traction.

The Ford Bronco Sport may not match the capability of its larger counterpart, yet it has enjoyed strong sales this year. As of July, its sales rose by 13.9 percent, totaling 83,376 units in 2025, a notable increase from the 73,203 units sold during the same period last year. This makes its poor performance in July quite surprising.

It wasn’t just that it didn’t perform as well as it had throughout the year; it faced an 18.7 percent drop in sales compared to July 2024. Specifically, Ford sold 10,938 Bronco Sports this July, down from 13,449 in the same month last year. No other Ford models, except those no longer in production, experienced such a significant sales decline.

Moreover, the only other mainstream Ford product that saw a drop in sales was the Maverick; every other model reported an increase. Large SUVs led the way, with the Explorer rising 46.2 percent to 18,837 sales. The Expedition increased by 50.9 percent, reaching 7,518 sales. The Bronco showed even more impressive growth, surging 55 percent from 8,902 sales in July 2024 to 13,798 this year.

This trend of success has been steady throughout 2025. The big Bronco has seen a 45 percent increase this year, up from 59,054 sales at the same point in 2024 to 85,861 so far this year. It’s clear that Chevrolet would likely prefer to have similar success with their boxy off-road vehicles, though they don’t actually have one of their own. However, not all SUVs within Ford’s range are flourishing.

Lincoln is facing challenges selling the Corsair and Nautilus this year. The Corsair saw a 16.2 percent dip for the month and is down 1 percent for the year. Meanwhile, the Nautilus, while up 3.3 percent for the year, experienced an 11.5 percent drop in July. Fortunately, Lincoln found relief with the Aviator, which had an outstanding July, achieving 1,470 sales—an increase of 298.4 percent compared to the 369 units sold in the same month last year.
