The GT Track Sport likely serves as a preview for an upcoming production model.

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the first teasers of the GT Track Sport concept, which showcases an aggressive front splitter, a NACA duct, and a large rear wing. The company has nearly confirmed that it foreshadows a forthcoming production vehicle.

The Mercedes-AMG GT lineup ranges from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder to a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid that generates 805 hp (600 kW / 816 PS). Buyers can also choose the track-oriented GT 63 Pro, which features an aerodynamic body kit, an enhanced engine, and a carbon ceramic braking system.

Mercedes is now teasing an even more extreme variant with the GT Track Sport concept. While details are sparse, the company characterized it as an “uncompromising concept vehicle … engineered for maximum dynamic driving peak performance to establish new benchmarks and record times.”

The teaser images provide little clarity, but the car seems to sport a distinctive grille and a large front splitter. Additionally, there’s perforated camouflage over the front wheels, suggesting top-mounted fender vents. The model also appears to include a NACA duct adjacent to the headlight.

Further specifics are challenging to discern, but the concept boasts a substantial rear wing and lightweight wheels, which are fitted with performance-oriented Michelin tires.

We anticipate more information will emerge in the weeks ahead, but Mercedes has been clear about its production intentions. They remarked that the concept indicates the “GT family is not yet complete” and offers a “preview of a potential expansion of the GT series with a V8 engine.”

Currently, the company has four V8-powered models, ranging from the GT 55 to the GT 63 S E Performance. The non-plug-in hybrids deliver power outputs between 469 hp (350 kW / 476 PS) and 603 hp (450 kW / 611 PS).
