The Tesla Cybertruck Wasn't Unique Enough, So Mansory Made Adjustments | Carscoops
A formidable truck featuring Ferrari-inspired wings and a carbon body pushes boundaries of taste and patience in the Middle East.
Created by Brad Anderson, the one-off Elongation Evo showcases a complete carbon fiber add-on kit, extending from the front to the back. It is equipped with large 26-inch wheels positioned beneath flared forged carbon fiber fenders. The rear design includes two winglets resembling those of the Ferrari FXX-K, along with a lit Mansory badge.
A few months ago, an unconventional Tesla Cybertruck attracted attention online when Mansory launched a custom variant dubbed the Elongation. This model prominently utilized carbon fiber along with questionable aerodynamic modifications on the truck's sloped, brick-like shape. Now, Mansory has elevated its offering with a new unique creation: the Elongation Evo.
Built specifically for the Middle East, the Elongation Evo mostly retains the same components as its 'standard' version, but incorporates additional carbon fiber. The entire exterior of the all-electric pickup now boasts exposed forged carbon fiber, elevating the Cybertruck’s somewhat contentious stainless steel appearance.
More Carbon, More Controversy
Like the Elongation, the Evo replaces the original hood and front end with forged carbon fiber components, now featuring new LED daytime running lights. Mansory has added fresh carbon trim over the pillars, window frames, door skins, and bed sides. The pattern on the forged carbon is quite bold, giving the Evo an especially striking look.
Additionally, the customized Tesla is outfitted with enormous 26-inch wheels tucked beneath the widened arches, also made of forged carbon fiber. The overall aesthetic intends to be dramatic, but the result may skew more towards divisive than sophisticated.
A Ferrari-Inspired Rear
The rear design is notably contentious. Mansory's designers appear to have spent considerable time admiring the Ferrari FXX-K, as they've incorporated two winglets at the back. While these features serve a valid aerodynamic purpose on the Ferrari, they may be less effective here, and could even prove counterproductive. A new diffuser has been added, along with a lit Mansory badge that clearly indicates who is behind the creation.
The interior of the Elongation Evo mirrors that of the Cybertruck Mansory showcased in February, featuring a blend of black, white, and bright yellow upholstery.
Although the Cybertruck has lost some of its appeal in the United States, it is reportedly very popular in the Middle East, which is not surprising given the locals' penchant for extravagant vehicles. Thus, the Elongation Evo is likely to resonate well in that market. However, presenting such a conspicuous vehicle in the U.S. may draw more judgmental looks than admiration.
