Buick is considering launching an electric subcompact crossover before the decade concludes.
There is uncertainty surrounding the fate of the Envision in the U.S., as it may potentially be discontinued.

Buick has experienced significant growth, with second-quarter sales rising by 19.3 percent, contributing to an overall increase of 29.2 percent this year. This follows a successful year in 2024, which saw a 9.8 percent increase in sales, reaching 183,421 units in the U.S.
This upward trend is fueled by the introduction of new and refreshed models like the Envista, which starts at $24,600 and has quickly become the brand's second-best-selling vehicle.
While the updated lineup has contributed to sales growth, a recent report indicates that future releases from the brand may be limited. Nonetheless, AutoNews reports that an electric subcompact crossover could be launched before 2029, with minimal information available about the model. It is suggested that it could be manufactured alongside the Chevrolet Bolt at the Fairfax Assembly plant.
While details are scarce, General Motors has recently unveiled plans to utilize lithium iron phosphate batteries for their upcoming affordable EVs. This prospective Buick model would likely align with that initiative, as production of these batteries is expected to begin at the Ultium Cells facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee, in late 2027.
In addition to this potential new addition, several facelifts are anticipated. The Enclave was redesigned for the 2025 model year, with another update expected in 2028. During that same period, the Envista is likely to receive a significant facelift or possibly a redesign.
Moreover, the best-selling Encore GX may see a redesign around 2029, marking a relatively lengthy lifecycle since the current model debuted at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show and was updated for the 2024 model year.
Lastly, the Envision is considered Buick's "biggest wild card." Imported from China, it is reportedly facing a steep 45 percent tariff, raising doubts about its future in the U.S. The publication hints that it could be discontinued, though there is a possibility it might be updated in 2026.
