New renderings showcase the coupe-style Audi Q3 Sportback with a sharper roofline and rear design.

The Sportback compromises on cargo space and rear headroom in favor of a more aggressive SUV aesthetic.

Its powertrains will resemble those of the standard Q3, including an e-hybrid variant with up to 268 hp available in select markets.

The next phase of Audi's compact SUV lineup is taking form. Following the recent unveiling of the new Q3, its sleeker counterpart is set for its own debut. The forthcoming Q3 Sportback, spotted undergoing testing at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, closely resembles its more traditional sibling, with the primary distinction being a notably sloped rear window.

A new set of renderings, inspired by the prototype sightings, now provides a clearer vision of what the final model is expected to resemble.

The front of the Q3 Sportback will be nearly identical to the standard version, which is a positive aspect since we find the new Audi Q3's front design quite appealing, mainly due to its slim LED daytime running lights. However, there might be an abundance of gloss black trim around the main headlights, giving the SUV an oddly exaggerated smile.

The rear is where the significant changes can be seen in these renderings from Kolesa. The new rear quarter panels, smaller side windows, and a sharply tapered roofline contribute to the coupe-SUV aesthetic that many buyers are drawn to these days.

While the redesigned roof and rear window will affect rear headroom and slightly diminish the Q3's maximum cargo space, some buyers may consider this trade-off worthwhile for the sleeker appearance.

Meanwhile, the rear details remain mostly consistent with the regular Q3, including the LED taillights, full-width light bar, and illuminated Audi badge.

The interior of the Q3 Sportback will also reflect that of the standard model, featuring an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.8-inch infotainment display. The same steering wheel stalks that have generated considerable discussion online will also be included. The right stalk serves solely as a gear selector, while the left one incorporates the indicators, windshield wiper functions, and high beams.

The powertrain lineup is expected to be similar, with engine options including gasoline, diesel, and plug-in hybrids, starting at 148 hp. The most powerful variant announced for the 2026 Q3 so far is the e-hybrid, offering 268 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine will likely be available in the Q3 Sportback, but only in select markets.
