Deus Ex Machina teamed up with BMW to produce a one-of-a-kind CE 02 equipped with DJ features.
The exclusive CE 02 boasts a custom leather seat, Marshall speakers, and a turntable.
BMW’s production model offers a single electric motor available in 5 hp and 15 hp variants.
BMW manufactures some of the best motorcycles globally, including the retro-styled R 12 S and the dominant M 1000 RR. However, one of its newest models, the CE 02, is distinct from the rest. Initially introduced a couple of years back, it is compact, fully electric, and undeniably stylish. Now, an even more exceptional version has been unveiled, although it will likely remain unique.
This specific CE 02 emerged from a collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, the Australian brand that initially focused on clothing, later shifted to motorcycle customization, and has expanded into music and live events through Deus Records.
The bike, referred to as the BMW Motorrad x Deus, effectively serves as a mobile DJ booth on two wheels, making it ideal for summer excursions along Santa Monica Pier—if it were available for purchase, of course.
Deus was commissioned to design a new leather seat for the CE 02 and incorporated four compact Marshall speakers along with a foldable DJ turntable. If you have a natural inclination to perform and entertain at any moment, this electric bike would be an excellent fit.
BMW is currently showcasing the bike throughout France and will present it at various BMW Motorrad dealerships. Additionally, it will be exhibited at Deus Ex Machina stores across the country.
As previously noted, this special edition of the CE 02 will not be available for purchase, but it might inspire owners looking to customize their own electric motorcycles.
The CE 02 You Can Actually Purchase
For those interested in acquiring a CE 02, the starting price in the United States is $7,599. Officially classified as an electric scooter, it is designed to be ridden like a motorcycle. It is powered by a single electric motor available in two options: 5 hp and 15 hp. The more powerful model accelerates from 0 to 30 mph (48 km/h) in just 3.0 seconds.
The top model achieves a respectable maximum speed of 59 mph (95 km/h) and comes equipped with two lithium-ion batteries that provide a combined capacity of 1.96 kWh, offering a range of approximately 59 miles (95 km). If you need to recharge quickly, a fast charger can elevate it from 0 to 80% in 180 minutes—ample time for a snack at a nearby food truck while you wait.
