Audi has unveiled the A5L, A5L Sportback, Q5L, and A6L e-tron specifically for the Chinese market at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The extended-wheelbase versions are up to 5.2 inches longer than their standard models.

This additional space allows the A6L e-tron to accommodate a larger battery, offering a range of 478 miles.

While legroom is generally appreciated, it’s particularly essential for Chinese consumers. Consequently, manufacturers provide a variety of long-wheelbase options in China. Audi is among them, introducing four new models at the Shanghai Auto Show: the A5L, A5L Sportback, Q5L, and A6L e-tron.

      **Audi A5L**

The A5L, produced by FAW Audi, is 3 inches (77 mm) longer than the standard version. Although specific details were sparse, the company highlighted that the vehicle offers "far more interior space" and a more comfortable rear seat with enhanced padding and a 28-degree recline. Additional features include an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a standard 10.9-inch display for the front passenger.

Audi remained vague about the powertrain specifications but mentioned that we can anticipate "ultra-modern combustion engines with 48-volt mild-hybrid technology." They also noted that the vehicle is built on the Premium Platform Combustion, promising "superior performance and high efficiency."

      **Audi A5L Sportback**

The A5L Sportback, produced by SAIC Audi, measures 193 inches (4,903 mm) in length. It appears to be very similar to the A5L but offers a nine-zone intelligent panoramic sunroof that can rapidly switch from clear to opaque.

Other features include a 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, 12-way power massaging front seats, and an ambient lighting system. The liftback design provides up to 48 cubic feet (1,361 liters) of cargo space.

It is powered by a hybridized 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and equipped with a standard all-wheel drive system. This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds.

      **Audi A6L e-tron**

Constructed by FAW Audi, the A6L e-tron features a wheelbase extended by 5.2 inches (132 mm), ensuring "maximum comfort and space, particularly in the rear seating area." It also includes a variety of recognizable displays and an intelligent panoramic sunroof.

The longer wheelbase allowed for the inclusion of a larger 107 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of up to 478 miles (770 km). A 270 kW fast charger can recharge the battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. While Audi did not disclose performance metrics, the vehicle comes with adaptive air suspension and a dual motor all-wheel drive system.

      **Audi Q5L**

Lastly, the Q5L measures 4.9 inches (125 mm) longer than the regular crossover, which "significantly" enhances interior space.

The company indicated that we can expect a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine equipped with mild-hybrid technology, aiming to fulfill the "promise made by the dynamic and powerful silhouette."
