GMC is teasing a cutting-edge concept car developed collaboratively by design teams in both the US and UK.

Features like floating taillights and pod-like elements suggest a bold new path for GMC's design.

This concept may provide a sneak peek at design elements for the brand’s next-generation models.

Once a major highlight of auto shows, concepts have become less prevalent. Nevertheless, some manufacturers continue to produce them, with General Motors being a significant advocate. In addition to last week's Corvette concept, the company presented the Cadillac Sollei and Opulent Velocity concepts in 2024. Now, it's GMC's turn to introduce an intriguing new vehicle.

Co-created by design teams from the United States and the United Kingdom, this concept resembles a futuristic pod or SUV. Although the teaser images are not very detailed, they reveal a fully enclosed front fascia with headlights and turn signals arranged in four strips on each side.

This linear design is mirrored in the back with taillights that seem to float. The model also features squared wheel arches with a contrasting black design. It includes two coordinates – 52°16’17”N 1°32’21”W and 42°30’36”N 83°02’22”W – which correspond to the locations of the design studios in Royal Leamington Spa and Warren, Michigan.

The advanced design theme carries through to the interior, showcasing an octagonal layout with a glass roof and what appears to be a sliding door. Inside are two individual seats separated by a large console, along with metallic flooring and chic lighting.

Details about the concept remain limited, but it likely indicates the future direction of GMC design. The company has been moving away from Chevrolet in recent years, establishing a distinct interior design language evident in newer models like the Acadia, Terrain, Yukon, and Sierra EV.
