The Lamborghini Gallardo-based Concept S was a one-of-a-kind, multi-million-dollar design. However, if Facebook Marketplace aligns more with your interests than RM Sotheby’s, a "tribute" version is available for a fraction of the price of the original concept.
A white 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Roadster has been customized to mimic the Concept S, featuring its windshield-less design and split-seat cockpit. Like the original conceptual vehicle, this tribute version boasts a 5.0-liter V10 engine that delivers 520 horsepower. In contrast to the Concept S, which was equipped with the “E-gear” automatic transmission, this replica comes with a sought-after gated six-speed manual transmission.
This replica also has 50,000 miles on the odometer, while the concept vehicle is estimated to have traveled “less than 200 km” (124 miles), most of which comes from showcasing at events. Both Lamborghini models are street legal; however, the concept cannot be registered in California due to emissions regulations. Interestingly, the tribute model is located in the North Hollywood area of Southern California.

The 2006 Lamborghini Concept S made its debut at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show. According to Road & Track, this vehicle was a non-operational exhibit car. However, consumer demand led the manufacturer to approve production for 100 units. Ultimately, the expenses were deemed excessive, resulting in the cancellation of the entire project, with only one unit being produced.
That solitary vehicle has since been appearing in the RM Sotheby’s auction circuit. Initially valued at up to $3 million, it was only sold once for $1.32 million during Monterey Car Week in 2017. Its most recent auction was in 2019 in Abu Dhabi, with an estimated value between $1.3 million and $1.6 million.
The more affordable tribute Lamborghini is reportedly paid off and comes with a clean title, being listed at $150,000. According to Carfax's listings for Gallardos, this price sits at the higher end of the market. The seller is open to negotiations as they aim to "buy a home and need the funds." This homage to the Concept S represents a distinctive Gallardo that will undoubtedly turn heads, and with one less zero in the price compared to the original, it may have a better chance of attracting buyers.
