This electric sedan is equipped with a 120 kW battery and two electric motors that generate 663 hp.

HiPhi briefly offered the Z in Germany, with prices starting at €105,000 at that time.

One of the HiPhi Zs we've found has only 50 km on the odometer, making it virtually new.

In the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market, startups often create quite a stir, only to vanish just as fast. Human Horizons made a considerable impact when it entered China's EV market with the HiPhi Z, an electric vehicle that resembled a four-door Nissan GT-R combined with a BMW i8 from a futuristic movie.

However, as we've seen repeatedly, flashy launches seldom assure lasting success. Despite its initial potential, Human Horizons quickly encountered financial difficulties, ultimately resulting in bankruptcy. This occurred roughly one year after the HiPhi Z was introduced in Europe, and now two of these rare vehicles are on the market, seeking new owners who may not fully grasp what they are signing up for.

Purchasing an EV from a defunct company, akin to Fisker's situation, is a risky endeavor, to say the least. If a malfunction occurs—or, heaven forbid, if something just fails to operate—you may find yourself stranded, lacking any technical support.

Less Than Half Its Original Price

Now, let’s discuss the details of the vehicles available. The first HiPhi model we discovered is a Z, listed for sale in Germany at €69,800 (~$75,300). Initially, when it was announced, the Z had a price of €105,000 (~$113,200), making it the most unique among HiPhi's three models.

We don't have exact information on when this model was delivered in Europe, but it has only 50 km (31 miles) on the odometer, indicating it is hardly used, provided that the financial instability does not entirely hinder its future potential.

The HiPhi Z is powered by a 120 kWh battery pack that drives two electric motors producing 663 hp. It can reportedly accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds and has a range of up to 345 miles (555 km) on a single charge. The exterior design of the Z is certainly eye-catching, and the interior is impressively luxurious, featuring high-quality materials and a large infotainment system.

The second HiPhi Z we found on Mobile is a slightly higher-priced four-seat version, originally priced at €107,000 (~$115,400). This particular model has seen more use, with 10,000 km (6,200 miles) on the clock, and the pictures indicate it has been utilized as a family vehicle, complete with two baby seats in the back. It is listed for €60,000 (~$64,700), which is roughly comparable to the cost of a brand new BMW 520i in Germany, though the Z is fully electric and offers significantly more power.

      Would You Take The Risk?

So, would you consider purchasing an EV from a company that's seemingly written its own demise? That's for you to decide. But if you’re feeling bold, these HiPhi Zs are still available for purchase. Just don't say we didn't give you a heads-up.
