The Renault Espace features a newly redesigned front and updated taillights, akin to the Rafale. It also comes with new seating, enhanced sound insulation, and a driver recognition system. The hybrid powertrain offers an impressive range of 1,100 km (684 miles) on a single tank.

Renault has unveiled a revamped version of the Espace just two years after the introduction of the current generation. This revised seven-seater SUV showcases a modern look with significant visual updates and minor interior enhancements. While it may be surprising that a facelift has occurred so soon, it's important to note that this model also serves as a preview of the forthcoming Renault Austral.

      Sharper New Looks

The 2025 Espace features Renault's latest design language, first introduced with the flagship Rafale and subsequently seen on the smaller Captur and Symbioz SUVs. The most prominent changes are found at the front, including sharper LED headlights, redesigned daytime running lights (DRLs), a new grille, and simplified bumper intakes, all contributing to a sleeker and more contemporary look.

The Techno, Iconic, and Esprit Alpine trims can be distinguished by the different finishes on the grille. The side profile remains similar to the outgoing Espace, while the rear showcases slightly smaller taillights with a modern lighting signature.

The redesign has marginally increased the Espace's length to 4.74 m (186.6 inches). Renault designers introduced a new Baltic Blue Grey exterior color and an exclusive Light Sand Grey interior option.

      Interior Comfort & Technology

Inside, the notable features of the updated Espace include ergonomic front seats and improved soundproofing. This SUV is the first Renault model to incorporate a new driver recognition system, which activates the user profile with personalized settings for driving position, radio preferences, and infotainment applications.

The optional large glass roof now includes Solarbay opacifying technology, allowing it to switch from transparent to opaque at the driver’s request. The digital cockpit remains the same, featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, and an optional 9.3-inch head-up display.

      Practicality & Powertrain

Similar to its predecessor, the Espace is available in five- and seven-seat configurations, offering a sliding rear bench and ample boot space. The storage capacity ranges from 520 to 2,225 liters (18.4-78.5 cubic feet) depending on the seating arrangement.

The 2025 Espace is offered with one powertrain option: a self-charging hybrid setup that includes a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors, generating a total of 197 hp (147 kW / 200 PS). According to Renault, this hybrid SUV can achieve a maximum range of 1,100 km (684 miles) between refuels. Additionally, the model can be equipped with the optional 4Control Advanced four-wheel steering technology.

The updated Espace is manufactured in Palencia, Spain, and is set to launch in various European markets prior to summer. It is likely that Renault will also soon introduce the facelifted Renault Austral, which will share these enhancements.
