Man Taken into Custody Following Suspected Molotov Cocktail Incident and Shooting at Tesla Store | Carscoops

In two separate incidents at a dealership in Oregon, several windows were shot out, and a Model X was set on fire.

Authorities have apprehended a man in connection with these attacks on a Tesla store.

The first incident involved the use of Molotov cocktails, while the second involved gunfire.

He is facing charges for unlawfully possessing an unregistered destructive device.

Tesla stores and vehicles have faced assaults following Elon Musk’s contentious actions and his significant cuts to federal agencies as the de facto leader of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This environment has placed customers and employees in jeopardy, but law enforcement is beginning to make arrests.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon has recently revealed that 41-year-old Adam Matthew Lansky was arraigned in federal court for possessing Molotov cocktails while attempting to damage property at a car dealership in Salem. This has led to charges of “illegally possessing an unregistered destructive device.”

On January 20, coinciding with Trump’s inauguration day, the Salem Police Department responded to a call about someone throwing Molotov cocktails at a car dealership. Although the government did not specify which dealership, local news outlets reported it was a Tesla store.

Almost a month later, on February 19, officers returned to the dealership to investigate reports of damage. In this case, the building and a vehicle appeared to have been shot.

Authorities quickly connected both incidents to Lansky, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office mentioned “surveillance footage obtained from the car dealership seemed to show Lansky throwing Molotov cocktails that struck the dealership's building and several cars, igniting fires.” Additionally, another surveillance video allegedly showed Lansky’s vehicle parked nearby as it was fired upon.

Lansky was arrested on Tuesday, March 4, without any issues. A judge has ordered him to remain in custody, and the case is reportedly a collaborative effort involving the ATF, FBI, and Salem Police Department.

Recently, video footage from KATU displayed extensive damage at the dealership, with numerous glass panels and doors appearing shot out. In the earlier incident, a Model X was reportedly set on fire.
